Fluid damper devices in civil structures such as buildings or bridges are commonly used as energy absorbers for seismic protection. The problem in the response analysis of structures with filled dampers mainly consists in the fact that, due to the strongly nonlinear behavior of such equipments, the response spectrum technique fails. Il saggio, a partire dal progetto della torre Eurosky dello Studio Purini/Thermes, individua le relazioni urbane e indaga le qualità tipo-morfologiche dell'edificio realizzato come elemento di forte identità in un più ampio contesto che – messo a punto in un masterplan – definisce l’intera area di progetto dell’Europarco Castellaccio di Roma. Il progetto è una struttura metodologicamente fondata su scelte e considerazioni di carattere relazionale, geometrico e funzionale, che evidenziano punti di forza, di debolezza e di tolleranza capaci di modificare, anche nell’ambito coerente di riferimento di un possibile scenario di riconversione, l’intera area a ridosso dell’EUR.

Our perceptions of events in the Mediterranean are strongly influenced by a range of visual practices that impact on both the emotional and the political. In this paper, I set out to critically explore the visual geographies underlying photographic images of contemporary migration flows across the Mediterranean Sea. I argue the need for a methodological shift from a content analysis approach to a critical investigation of the spatial interweaving of images, gazes and aesthetic regimes that governs both the production and reception of such photographs. Daily mobility data are multidimensional and desaggregated, what make them hard to manipulate and to analyze. Although methods of representation and analyze have been proposed, none of them seem to be able to efficiently bring out knowledge from data. We propose to combinate this solutions and a methodology of innovative reaggregation to visualize and explore mobility data.

La ricerca «Telemaco» è stata svolta per promuovere una partecipazione attiva e responsabile degli studenti universitari alla didattica universitaria. A tal fine, si è ritenuto opportuno preparare tale partecipazione mediante l’applicazione di due metodi d’intervento con cui migliorare il loro senso di autoefficacia, la loro capacità di gestire l’ansia da prestazione e l’immagine del loro «sé» attuale: la scrittura espressiva e il tutoraggio tra pari. I risultati dimostrano l’efficacia di questi due metodi sulle tre competenze prese in esame. This chapter, intending to be part of the reasoning on the perception of risk from extreme natural events, intends to describe the main contents of the National Emergency Plan for volcanic events of national importance on the island of Stromboli (ME) prepared in 2015 by the Department for the Civil Protection (DPC). The volcanic island of Stromboli is in fact largely exposed to the risk associated with the activities of the volcano of the same name, especially that of the tsunami. Volumes of aqueous block copolymers based on poly(propylene oxides) and poly(ethylene oxides) in a large temperature range: A quantitative description

The focus of this paper was on a quantitative comprehension of temperature effect on the volumes of aqueous di-block and triblock copolymers, based on propylene oxide (PO) and ethylene oxide (EO) units. To this purpose, literature data dealing with (EO316PO94 + water) and (EO13PO30EO13 + water) mixtures were analyzed. The volume vs. temperature trends were rationalized on the basis of the (unimers + aggregate) equilibrium by taking into account the temperature effect on both the partial molar volumes of the unimeric and the aggregated copolymer as well as the equilibrium constant of micellization.
