The relationship between brand love and positive word of mouth
2014
Being able to create strong emotional bonds between consumers and brands can be seen as an important goal of today’s brand management. As in interpersonal relationships also in product and brand context love is presented to be the strongest stage of emotional attachment a consumer may have. Brand love is previously discovered to have several desirable outcomes from marketing perspective but the understanding of this phenomenon still remains in its infancy. The objective of this research was to gain a better insight of the construct of brand love by observing how the three following phenomena, self-expressiveness of a brand, brand trust and hedonic product type affect brand love. In addition…

Hashtagin kaappaaminen Twitterissä : huumoria, kritiikkiä ja huutelua
2016
Sosiaalinen media tuo organisaatiot ja yleisöt yhteiselle areenalle, jossa organisaatioiden on keksittävä uusia tapoja saadakseen yleisöjen huomion sekä pitääkseen viestinsä pinnalla ja jossa yleisöillä on mahdollisuus kyseenalaistaa organisaatioita. Tämän tutkimuksen tavoitteena oli selvittää tilannetta, jossa yleisö kaappaa organisaation Twitter- kampanjan hashtagin ja kääntää kampanjan organisaatiota vastaan. Tutkimuksessa selvitetään, millainen prosessi hashtagin kaappaaminen on ja millaisia kaappauksia hashtagilla on tutkimalla kahvilaketju Starbucksin maaliskuussa 2015 lanseeraaman racetogether-kampanjan hashtagia. Tutkimusaineistoksi kerättiin tuhat #racetogether-hashtagilla merkitty…
A Power Sector in Transition Understanding Transition Towards a Cleaner Grid and how Distributed Energy Resources Affect the Design and Operation of …
2018
Important changes in the supply and the demand side of electricity apparatus are now underway, triggered by a combination of drivers dramatically affecting the transmission sector of power systems: greenhouse gas emissions, distributed generation, energy efficiency and the full integration of the European energy market. A variety of accelerating factors - including active consumer, aggregators, energy storage, e-vehicles, etc..- are creating a new era for the many stakeholders, incl. system operators, regional entities, industry and consumer organizations, producers or their trade bodies, Regulators, public decision makers and the society at large. Entraining this background, ENTSO-E and th…
Don't throw away your printed books: A meta-analysis on the effects of reading media on reading comprehension
2018
Abstract With the increasing dominance of digital reading over paper reading, gaining understanding of the effects of the medium on reading comprehension has become critical. However, results from research comparing learning outcomes across printed and digital media are mixed, making conclusions difficult to reach. In the current meta-analysis, we examined research in recent years (2000–2017), comparing the reading of comparable texts on paper and on digital devices. We included studies with between-participants (n = 38) and within-participants designs (n = 16) involving 171,055 participants. Both designs yielded the same advantage of paper over digital reading (Hedge's g = −0.21; dc = −0.2…
Organizational Legitimacy and Stakeholder Trust in the Organization: A Feed-Forward Relationship
2018
The main goal of this study is to enlarge the understanding of the concept of legitimacy. In recent decades, organizational legitimacy has received a great deal of attention from researchers who have tried to establish how organizations acquire, manage, and use it. However, there is still no conceptual agreement on how organizational legitimacy should be understood and how it can be measured. This reflects the complexity in the literature about understanding this phenomenon and suggests research opportunities. This chapter aims to strengthen the understanding of the role legitimacy plays in organizations by reviewing the related literature and analyzing the relationship between legitimacy a…
Benefits and Challenges of Digitalization: An Expert Study on Norwegian Public Organizations
2021
The implementation of and research on digital transformation in the context of public organizations have increased substantially in the past few years. A wide range of drivers, benefits, and challenges associated with digitalization have been suggested in the literature. However, these suggestions appear fragmented and disconnected, and do not offer a clear overview of the main drivers, challenges, and benefits. Moreover, research in this regard in the Norwegian and Scandinavian contexts is lacking. Therefore, there is a need to clarify the drivers, benefits, and challenges of digital transformation. To address this need, seven Norwegian public organizations were investigated by gathering d…

Current debates on online privacy are rooted in liberal theory. Accordingly, privacy is often regarded as a form of freedom from social, economic, and institutional influences. Such a negative perspective on privacy, however, focuses too much on how individuals can be protected or can protect themselves, instead of challenging the necessity of protection itself. In this article, I argue that increasing online privacy literacy not only empowers individuals to achieve (a necessarily limited) form of negative privacy, but has the potential to facilitate a privacy deliberation process in which individuals become agents of social change that could lead to conditions of positive privacy and infor…
Detection of Duplicated Regions in Tampered Digital Images by Bit-Plane Analysis
2009
In this paper we present a new method for searching duplicated areas in a digital image. The goal is to detect if an image has been tampered by a copy-move process. Our method works within a convenient domain. The image to be analyzed is decomposed in its bit-plane representation. Then, for each bitplane, block of bits are encoded with an ASCII code, and a sequence of strings is analyzed rather than the original bit-plane. The sequence is lexicographically sorted and similar groups of bits are extracted as candidate areas, and passed to the following plane to be processed. Output of the last planes indicates if, and where, the image has been altered.
