Co-creation of a sustainable image on social media : the case of five food brands

The food industry causes large environmental impacts globally. Different actors such as governments, brands and consumers however, are actively working on creating a sustainable society. In this study I investigate how brands and consumers co-create a sustainable image and which sustainable images they create. A multiple case study is conducted under five Dutch sustainable food brands by using content analysis of sustainability hashtags in firm- and user-generated posts generated between April 2016 and March 2017 on the social media platform Instagram. Investigating the effectiveness of a digital game-based task on the acquisition of word knowledge

This study investigates the probable effect of a digital game-based vocabulary learning (DGBVL) task on the acquisition of some components of a word knowledge framework. In so doing, 124 Persian speakers (56 males and 68 females) were randomly assigned to either a control or an experimental group. The experimental group participants completed a DGBVL task for acquiring ten low-frequent inanimate object names, or lexical nouns, by playing a commercial adventure game. Maassamme on herätty huomaamaan, että kansallinen kielivarantomme on kaventunut huolestuttavasti englannin jäädessä monella opiskelijalla korkeakoulutuksen päättyessä ainoaksi vieraaksi kieleksi. Työelämämme tarvitsee monipuolista kielitaitoa, ja vuonna 2018 korkeakoulut käynnistivätkin opetus- ja kulttuuriministeriön (OKM) rahoittaman KiVAKO-hankkeen (Kielivarannon vahvistaminen korkeakouluissa), jonka tarkoituksena on vahvistaa suomalaisten korkeakouluopiskelijoitten ns. harvinaisten tai harvoin opiskeltujen kielten osaamista. Opiskelijoiden podcastit ja vlogit kielenoppimisen ja arvioinnin tukena

Tieto- ja viestintäteknologia tarjoaa monia mahdollisuuksia kielen oppimiseen, opettamiseen ja arviointiin. Podcastit ja vlogit ovat monille opiskelijoille vapaa-ajalta tuttuja, mutta yliopisto-opetuksessa niitä on toistaiseksi käytetty vain rajallisesti. Tässä artikkelissa esittelen opetuskokeilujani, joissa olen hyödyntänyt opiskelijoiden tekemiä vlogeja ja podcasteja osana pohjoismaisten kielten kursseja. Onnistuneet kokeilut ja positiivinen opiskelijapalaute innostavat jatkamaan vlogien ja podcastien käyttöä opetuksessa ja arvioinnissa myös jatkossa. nonPeerReviewed

The Developmental Dynamics between Interest, Self-concept of Ability, and Academic Performance

Abstract. Only a few studies have examined the direction of associations between academic achievement, interest, and sel f-concept of ability simultaneously by using longitudinal data over several school years. To exam ine the cross-lagged relationships between students’ interest, self-concept of ability, and performance in mathematics and reading, longitudinal data from Grade 1 to Grade 7 of comprehensive school was gathered from 216 students.
