HDL:n (high density lipoprotein) pääproteiinikomponentin, apolipoproteiini A1:n (ApoA1), on todettu lisäävän glykolyysia ja oksidatiivista fosforylaatiota hiiren luurankolihassoluissa. ApoA1:llä oletetaan myös olevan merkittävä rooli lihaksen normaalissa aineenvaihdunnassa ja siihen liittyvissä sairauksissa. ApoA1 vaikuttaa leukosyyttien aktivaatioon ja jakautumiseen säätelemällä solun sisäistä kolesterolitasoa. Nämä muutokset vaikuttavat myös solun aineenvaihduntaan. ApoA1:n suoranaista vaikutusta leukosyyttien soluhengitykseen ei kuitenkaan ole aiemmin tutkittu. Tutkimuksen tehtävänä on selvittää onko Varkaudesta nähtävissä urbaanin kaupungin piirteitä Jänisten valokuvaajasuvun valokuvia tarkastelemalla. Tarkoituksena on tarkastella kuinka Varkaus-nimisestä tilasta on kehittynyt itsenäinen Varkauden kaupunki ja peilata Jänisten valokuvaajasuvun kuvien kautta sen kaupungistumista. Keskeisiä kysymyksiä ovat: Onko Varkaus urbaani kaupunki? Kuinka se näyttäytyy valokuvissa? Onko urbaani todellista, vai onko se vain kuvaajan näkemys tai mielikuva? Measures of the Massive Mountain in Aleksis Kivi’s Play Kullervo

The story of a prisoner inside an enormous steel mountain is embedded in Kullervo, an early Finnish tragedy by 19th-century author Aleksis Kivi. I focus here on the exceptional size of the mountain, as told by the main character, Kullervo. Although the embedded story has aroused admiration in research, the mountain’s size and form do not appear to have done so. If taken literally, and assuming the shape of a double pyramid, at a minimum, the mountain’s surface area would be between that of Earth and Uranus, a planet that Kivi was somehow aware of.
