Renin-Angiotensin System Blockade and Mortality in Patients With Hypertension and COVID-19 Infection

To determine the effect renin-angiotensin system blockers on the outcome in patients with hypertension and concurrent COVID-19 infection, we searched PubMed, the Cochrane Library, and Google Scholar for relevant articles. Twelve studies with a total of 16,101 patients met the inclusion criteria. The mortality rate among the users of angiotensin converting enzyme inhibitors or angiotensin receptor blockers was 12.15% and in non-users it was 14.56% (risk ratio 0.70, 95% CI [0.53-0.91], P < 0.007). Objective To investigate the association of asymmetry in leg extension power (LEP) with walking and standing balance. Design Cross-sectional analysis. Setting Research laboratory. The study examined (1) what dimensions of parenting would emerge from retrospective reports of parental behaviour, and (2) whether childhood family violence and parental problems are associated with later perceptions of parenting among 89 young male Finnish inmates. The inmates completed the Parent Behaviour Inventory (PBI) and the Conflict Tactics Scales (CTS). Data on childhood family violence and parental problems were obtained from two files. The PBI yielded three factors and the CTS two factors for both mothers and fathers. Solitary Myofibroma of the Bladder Trigone in a 3-Month-Old Patient: First Case Report

Visceral solitary myofibromas are uncommon in childhood. We report a case of a solitary asymptomatic visceral myofibroma of the bladder trigone occurring in a 3-month-old boy. Once malignancies were ruled out by cystoscopy, radical excision was performed in order to avoid any potential impairment of bladder dynamic. Postoperative course was uneventful and patient was discharged on day 3 after surgery. After 36 months of follow-up, the patient is toilet-trained and remains well; bladder function is normal.

OBJECTIVE To enlighten the early response of endometrium to tamoxifen by assessing the expression of estrogen receptors, progesterone receptors, Ki-67, and the histological response in endometria from normal postmenopausal women treated for 21 days with tamoxifen. DESIGN A total of 40 women, scheduled to undergo vaginal hysterectomy because of uterine prolapse, were randomly assigned to the tamoxifen group (20 mg/day; 20 women) or the control group (20 women).
