Pharmacokinetics of the cannabinoid receptor ligand [18 F]MK-9470 in the rat brain - Evaluation of models using microPET

2018

PURPOSE The positron emission tomography ligand [18 F]MK-9470 is an inverse agonist that binds reversibly and with high affinity to the cannabinoid type 1 receptor. Due to its slow brain kinetics, care is required in the definition of its dissociation rates from the receptor. The goal of this study was to investigate pharmacokinetic analysis methods using an arterial input function. METHODS Five Sprague-Dawley rats received injections of 13 to 25 MBq of [18 F]MK-9470 and were scanned over a period of 90 min. Arterial blood samples were collected throughout the scan. Data were analyzed using four different compartmental models: a reversible one-tissue model, reversible two tissue models with…

Body image during sexual activity in the population of Polish adult women

2020

Introduction. Recently it has been shown that body image during sexual activities is a better predictor of the diversity of sexual experience than body image as a psychological trait. To measure contextual body image (as a state) the Body Exposure During Sexual Activity Questionnaire (BESAQ) was developed. Material and methods. 845 women aged 18-55 years were included in the study. The original model was first translated into Polish and consulted to create the version to be further validated. The original model was tested using confirmatory factor analysis (CFA). The population was divided in two equal groups – group 1 was used for exploratory factor analysis. Discriminant and convergent va…

Factor selection procedures in a Google Earthtm aided landslide susceptibility model: application to the Beiro river basin (Spain)

2011

A procedure to select the controlling factors connected to the slope instability has been defined. It allowed to assess the landslide susceptibility in the Rio Beiro basin (about 10 km2) over the north-eastern area of the city of Granada (Spain). Field and remote (Google EarthTM) recognition techniques allowed to generate a landslide inventory consisting in 127 phenomena. Univariate tests, using both association coefficients and validation results of single parameter susceptibility models, allowed to select among 15 controlling factors the ones that resulted as good predictor variables; these have been combined for unique conditions analysis and susceptibility maps were finally prepared. In…

A comparison of the discrete and dimensional models of emotion in music

2010

The primary aim of the present study was to systematically compare perceived emotions in music using two different theoretical frameworks: the discrete emotion model, and the dimensional model of affect. A secondary aim was to introduce a new, improved set of stimuli for the study of music-mediated emotions. A large pilot study established a set of 110 film music excerpts, half were moderately and highly representative examples of five discrete emotions (anger, fear, sadness, happiness and tenderness), and the other half moderate and high examples of the six extremes of three bipolar dimensions (valence, energy arousal and tension arousal). These excerpts were rated in a listening experime…
