El objetivo de este trabajo es presentar la adaptación y estudio de las propiedades psicométricas del Cuestionario de consecuencias de consumo de alcohol en jóvenes, forma breve (B-YAACQ) en una muestra de 323 estudiantes de Psicología españoles, de los cuales el 74.3% son mujeres. Se realizó una retro-traducción de los ítems siguiendo las normas de la ITC, y un análisis factorial confirmatorio (AFC) con el programa Mplus mediante el método de extracción WLSMV y la matriz de correlaciones policóricas. The continuous sample of working lives: Improving its representativeness

This paper studies the representativeness of the Continuous Sample of Working Lives (CSWL), a set of anonymized microdata containing information on individuals from Spanish Social Security records. We examine several CSWL waves (2005–2013) and show that it is not representative for the population with a pension income. We then develop a methodology to draw a large dataset from the CSWL that is much more representative of the retired population in terms of pension type, gender and age. We examined the psychometric characteristics of the long and abbreviated versions of the Multidimensional Students’ Life Satisfaction Scale (MSLSS) in the Italian contexts. In study 1 we assessed the factorial validity and reliability of the long and abbreviated versions of the MSLSS among Italian adolescents, while in study 2 we assessed the convergent validity of the abbreviated Italian version of the MSLSS by examining the associations between life satisfaction and well-established measures of adjustment. Factorial validity of the Maslach Burnout Inventory (MBI-HSS) among Spanish professionals

OBJECTIVE: To assess the factorial validity and internal consistency of the Maslach Burnout Inventory (MBI-HSS). METHODS: In a sample consisting of 705 Spanish professionals from diverse occupational sectors (health, education, police and so one), seven plausible factorial models hypothesized were compared using LISREL 8. RESULTS: The four-factor oblique solution and the three-factor oblique solution showed the best and similar fit. Deletion of Item 12 and Item 16, taking into consideration the suggestions in the manual, improved the goodness of fit for both models. Associations of temperament types and gender of early adolescents and teachers with adolescents’ school well‐being

This study examined the role of temperament type and gender of adolescents and teachers in adolescents’ well‐being in school. The sample consisted of 677 Finnish students and 56 classroom teachers. Parents rated adolescent temperament and teachers rated their own temperament in autumn of Grade 6. Self‐reports of school well‐being among adolescents were obtained in autumn and the fall of Grade 6. The results showed that being a girl and having resilient temperament type predicted higher school well‐being. In turn, boys with undercontrolled temperament, who were otherwise at risk for decreased school well‐being, particularly benefited from having a female teacher with resilient temperament. O…

Mass appraisal, or the automatic valuation of a large number of real estate assets, has attracted the attention of many researchers, who have mainly approached this issue employing traditional econometric models such as Ordinary Least Squares (OLS). However, this method does not consider the hierarchical structure of the data and therefore assumes the unrealistic hypothesis of the independence of the individuals in the sample. Advantages of fitting contrast curves using logistic function: a technical note.

Objective The aim of this article is to demonstrate how the contrast properties of an imaging system can be ideally fitted with the use of stripe patterns and the logistic function. Study Design Stripe patterns with defined amounts of line pairs (lp/mm) per mm (10-20 lp/mm) were recorded with the use of digital photostimulable storage phosphor. Scan data and normalized image data were analyzed with the use of ImageJ and MatLab to calculate different contrast curves. Results For original scan data, the goodness of fit was 0.0000019 (sum of squared error [SSE]). The R-square was 0.9998.
