El chatón contiene un único nombre: eivinas, posiblemente el primer testimonio epigráfico de un nombre báltico y más concretamente prusiano. This paper presents the bezel of a Visigothic ring of unknown origin and probably dated in the 7th century. El presente texto plantea una serie de reflexiones sobre la figura del pintor Lluís Dalmau, uno de los introductores de la pintura gótica flamenca en la Corona de Aragón. El análisis surge a partir de la presentación de un nuevo documento inédito sobre un retablo contratado en 1451 por Isabel de Requesens, esposa del gobernador de Cataluña, Galceran de Requesens, para la baronía de Molins de Rei (Barcelona). El documento sitúa al pintor realizando este encargo en Valencia, lo que supone un regreso hasta ahora desconocido a su ciudad natal tras haber realizado la tabla de la Mare de Déu dels Consellers, de Barcelona (1443-1445), y el retablo de san Baudilio, de Sant Boi de Llobregat (1448). …

In the context of the capital cities of the Aragonese Kindom, it would be necessary to examineand compare the cerimonial practices, behavioral codes, and uses made of the royal residences. At the same time it seems increasingly evident that, during the 15th century, the mobility of the royal court - as well as that of the aristocrats, merchants, and master builders - slowly shaped a modern, homogeneous common language which is currently defined as "Mediterranean Gothic". This paper analyzes the contribution of Sicily through the study of a number of significant buildings : the royal palace of Palermo and the Steri of Chiaromonte , the castle Maniace of Syracuse .
Morality in Let’s Play narrations : Moral evaluations of Gothic monsters in gameplay videos of Fallout 3

Performative Let’s Play gaming videos are a part of contemporary Internet culture through which morality becomes shared. Many digital games draw on Gothic traditions to feature human-like monsters who demand morally complex interpretations from players. This study examines what kinds of moral evaluations players form of ambiguous Gothic monsters in Let’s Play videos of the action role-playing game Fallout 3. “Historical fiction is back”: (Non)Fictional Pasts and Presents in Fred Khumalo’s metahistorical romance, The Longest March

International audience; This article examines the ways Fred Khumalo’s second historical novel, The Longest March, blends different genres – from the use of gothic tropes to the rewriting of historical romances – to reflect on both the fabricated and limited nature of narrative, as well as its necessity in the South African context. The article concludes that The Longest March qualifies as a “metahistorical romance”, as it blurs the boundary between fiction and nonfiction while questioning historical discourse.

The aim of the essay is the analysis of the supernatural elements in Kipling’s ‘The Mark on The Beast”, Conan Doyle’s “Lot no. 409”, Wells’ “The Truth about Peycraft” conceived of as the expression of the revitalisation of the Gothic imagery which, through the Short Story, serve to voice and exorcise late Victorian crisis, de-Constructing late Victorian identity.
