Scopo di questo lavoro è l'analisi cartografica di punti fiduciali (P.F.), attraverso la comparazione delle coordinate di un dataset di sessanta vertici presenti nella città di Palermo. Come supporto cartografico di riferimento è stato preso la carta ufficiale del Comune di Palermo, che è in formato digitale ed è stata recentemente realizzata con metodo aerofotogrammetrico (2007). TEST DI POSIZIONAMENTO CON RICEVITORI IBRIDI GPS-GLONASS

In questo lavoro viene svolta un’analisi su test di posizionamento effettuati con ricevitori ibridi, per valutare l'apporto che la costellazione satellitare Glonass può dare ai rilievi NRTK (Network Real Time Kinematic) in condizioni di geometria satellitare GPS critica. I test sono stati condotti variando intenzionalmente le configurazioni geometriche dei satelliti appartenenti alle costellazioni GPS e Glonass, passando da rilievi solo GPS (9+0, 8+0, 6+0) a GPS-Glonass (4+5, 3+5, 2+5). Lo studio descrive le operazioni di rilevamento con tecniche topografiche, laser-scanning e fotogrammetriche, condotte a fini conoscitivi e divulgativi sul teatro antico del sito archeologico di Palazzolo Acreide (SR). Il risultato del rilievo è consistito nella realizzazione di un modello 3D foto realistico del teatro, georiferito nel sistema cartografico UTM-ED50 con l’impiego di tecniche GPS. Time series analysis in the UNIPA NRTK GNSS network

Today GNSS coordinate time series analysis was evaluated to determine accurate position. The aims of this project is a preliminary combination of raw data to obtain the initial accurate parameter estimates of the stations in order to compute error bounds for all parameters of the model. Case of study is UNIPA NRTK GNSS: this network is located in Italy, central western of Sicily and is composed of nine permanent stations. The coordinates of the reference stations were established in IGS05 (epoch 2005.0) and ETRF89 (epoch 1989.0) system. The paper describes the first results of a study, supported by an Italian research project “Integrated Inertial Positioning Systems in Aerial Photogrammetry” on the potential use of these techniques for production of digital large scale orthophotos. The study has been done with aerial photographs collected from two different flights executed in Sicily: the former, relating to the city of Palermo, at average scale of 1:9300; the latter, over the city of Catania, at average scale of 1:2000. Monitoring event attendance using a combination of traditional and advanced surveying tools

This paper will describe the research stages and tools used for monitoring participants’ attendance at the European Researchers’ Night, held in Palermo in September 2017. A combination of traditional survey instruments and new technologies was effected in order to analyse participants’ behaviour during the event. The results derived from these different data sources were also integrated and analysed in order to evaluate the success of the event from social and economic points of view. Data relating to participants’ mobility during the event will be described and clusters of participants proposed, based on their mobility behaviour.
Cruise passengers' trajectories at destination. A Dynamic Time Warping approach.

The present work aims at proposing an analysis of cruise passengers trajectories at the destination through Dynamic Time Warping algorithm. Data collected through GPS devices on cruise passengers’ behavior in the port of Palermo are analyzed in order to show similarities and differences among their spatial trajectories at the destination. A cluster analysis is performed in order to identify cruise passengers’ segments based on trajectories’ similarity. Results are of interest from both a methodological perspective related with the analysis of GPS data, and for the management and planning of cruise tourism destinations.
Determinants of spatial intensity of stop locations on cruise passengers tracking data

This paper aims at analyzing the spatial intensity in the distribution of stop locations of cruise passengers during their visit at the destination through a stochastic point process modelling approach on a linear network. Data collected through the integration of GPS tracking technology and questionnaire-based survey on cruise passengers visiting the city of Palermo are used, to identify the main determinants which characterize their stop locations pattern. L’oggetto del presente lavoro è il monitoraggio della cattedrale di San Gerlando di Agrigento, duomo eretto tra i secoli XI e XII, che sorge nella parte più alta della collina di Girgenti. Lo studio è significativo poiché, nel corso dei secoli la costruzione è stata soggetta a interventi di ristrutturazione e di consolidamento, resi necessari dai danni arrecati da frane che, in più occasioni, hanno coinvolto il territorio su cui essa sorge. Dal 2010 la chiesa è chiusa al culto per copiosi eventi franosi e idrogeologici che hanno allarmato ulteriormente anche la Protezione Civile. Tracking cruise passengers' consumption: An analysis of the relationships between onshore mobility and expenditure

This paper analyzes the relationships between the spatial behaviour and destination expenditures of cruise tourists by integrating customer surveys and GPS tracking technology. Based on data collated in 2018 and 2019 in Copenhagen, cruise passenger expenditure was modelled via logistic regression, using socio-demographic characteristics and mobility-related variables. In order to map the spatial behaviour and the key characteristics of the itinerary followed, tracking data were synthesized into meaningful mobility variables.
