Abstract Objective: To explore the associations between general practitioners (GPs) characteristics such as gender, specialist status, country of birth and country of graduation and the quality of care for patients with type 2 diabetes (T2DM). Design: Cross-sectional survey. Setting and subjects: The 277 GPs provided care for 10082 patients with T2DM in Norway in 2014. The GPs characteristics were self-reported: 55% were male, 68% were specialists in General Practice, 82% born in Norway and 87% had graduated in Western Europe. In economies characterized by low labor demand and high rates of youth unemployment, entrepreneurship training has the potential to enable youth to gain skills and create their own jobs. This paper presents experimental evidence on a new entrepreneurship track that provides business training and personalized coaching to university students in Tunisia. We shall analyse the different characteristics of entrepreneurs, the self-employed, and employees in public, private and non-profit organisations, based on a sample of young European higher education graduates. Using graduates’ self-assessment from a survey, several sets of characteristics such as social-demographic traits, educational and occupational experiences and levels of competences are considered. A new index to measure association between categorical and ordinal variables

In this paper a new index to analyse the dependence between categorical variables is presented and is compared to other measures of association, mainly based on the X2 Pearson’s statistic. The new index is compared to well-known measures of cograduation, as well. To restrict our comparisons, the domain we consider includes all the square contingency tables belonging to the same Fréchet class, that is all the contingency tables in which the marginal frequencies are given as fixed in both characters. Anyway, the new index is good even if there are no constrain on the marginal distributions, but only a constrain on n, the total of the observations.
Educational and vocational achievement among long-term survivors of adolescent cancer in Germany

Background Adolescence involves graduating from school and preparing one's professional career. The accomplishment of these tasks may be hampered by the experience of cancer. This study investigates the educational and professional achievements of German long-term survivors of adolescent cancer.
