This is a reassessment of the work of Tadeusz Rittner, a bilingual Polish/German writer and dramatist from Galicia who won much acclaim in the early decades of the last century. This article examines his narrative and dramatic strategies by focusing on his drama Lato (Summer), published in 1913. It is a story about a timid young man who, after hearing from his doctor that he will not live much longer, turns suddenly into a bold and shameless seducer. The article presents literary images of Tatars, which can be found in two poetic novels by the forgotten Romantic author, Tomasz August Olizarowski (1811-1879). The first of them, printed in 1836, is Krzyż w Peredylu. Pieśń wołyńska (The Cross in Peredil. A Volhynian Song), published for the second time in a revised version as Topir-Góra. Powieść wołyńska. Powieść Bogdana Madeja ukazuje społeczeństwo uzależnione z powodu zakazu. Wprowadzone prawo zakazuje spożywania jabłek, co wcale nie wpływa na to, że mieszkańcy miasta ich nie jedzą. Jabłko jako symbol zakazanego owocu w tej antyutopii to nie tylko obiekt pożądania, ale również symbol wolności.

Šajā pētnieciskājā darbā aplūkots groteskas jēdziens, tās formas un veidojošie elementi prozas darbos. Maģistra darba „Groteska Andra Jakubāna un Marģera Zariņa prozā” mērķis ir izpētīt abu autoru groteskas elementu realizāciju un to nozīmi prozas darbos. Abi autori ir spilgti sava laika (20.gs. 60.–80. gadu) pārstāvji latviešu literatūrā. To netradicionālais skatījums uz pasauli un cilvēkiem paver jaunus impulsus uz neviennozīmību tekstos. 20.gs. 60.–80. gados latviešu kultūrtelpa, arī literatūra pastāvēja padomju režīma apstākļos, kuros autori tika kontrolēti no varas pārstāvju puses, kā arī literatūra cieš no pašcenzūras.
