In order to investigate their anticancer potential, four new pyrazolo[1,2-a]benzo[1,2,3,4]-tetrazinone derivatives, designed through the chemometric protocol VLAK, and three of the most active compounds of the previous series have been evaluated on some cellular events including proliferation, apoptosis induction, and cell cycle. The NCI one dose (10 mu M) screening revealed that the 8,9-di-methyl derivative showed activity against Leukemia (CCRF-CEM) and Colon cancer cell line (COLO 205), reaching 81% and 45% of growth inhibition (GI), respectively. Local tunneling study of three-dimensional order parameter in the pi band of Al-doped MgB2 single crystals

We have performed local tunneling spectroscopy on high quality Mg$_{1-x}$Al$_x$B$_2$ single crystals by means of Variable Temperature Scanning Tunneling Spectroscopy (STS) in magnetic field up to 3 Tesla. Single gap conductance spectra due to c-axis tunneling were extensively measured, probing different amplitudes of the three-dimensional $\Delta_\pi$ as a function of Al content. Temperature and magnetic field dependences of the conductance spectra were studied in S-I-N configuration: the effect of the doping resulted in a monotonous reduction of the locally measured $T_C$ down to 24K for x=0.2. Tā kā pārliecinoši lielākā daļa jaunuzņēmumu negūst panākumus, šī maģistra darba autors izvēlējās izpētīt, kādi ir Latvijas jaunuzņēmumu veiksmes faktori augstas izaugsmes tehnoloģiju jaunuzņēmumu izveidē, kas ir šī maģistra darba mērķis. Pētījums tiek veikts, veicot esošās literatūras analīzi, statistisko datu analīzi un kvalitatīvo analīzi, izmantojot Latvijas jaunuzņēmumu dibinātāju padziļinātās intervijas ar identiskiem, atvērtiem jautājumiem. That was the starting point to propose experimental evaluation of the possible effect of certain factors such as the economical crisis context/information regarding the economy status and the personal perception regarding the money source/value as regards to the tendency of investing in a small business of the youngsters with a high Internal Locus of Control level.

Decentralization is one of the most profound reforms undertaken in Ukraine. It includes the voluntary merging of previously independent villages and towns into larger Amalgamated Territorial Communities (ATCs). The European Union strongly supports the reform but does not make Ukraine’s further European integration conditional upon it. Positive Turn in Elder-Care Workers' Views Toward Telecare Robots.

AbstractRobots have been slowly but steadily introduced to welfare sectors. Our previous observations based on a large-scale survey study on Finnish elder-care workers in 2016 showed that while robots were perceived to be useful in certain telecare tasks, using robots may also prove to be incompatible with the care workers’ personal values.
