This work is on the subject of modelization of structures treated with passive damping elements. A generic "equivalent single layer" plate model using transverse shear warping functions is presented. Several methods to obtain these functions are described, allowing the implementation of classical models and others issued from the litterature. Two new methods for obtaining these functions are also presented.Several discretization methods adapted to the generic plate model are studied. Navier's procedure allows the testing of the quality of each model associated with a set of transverse shear warping functions. The aim of this thesis is to examine and interpret the sophisticated composition of Rodrigo Fresán’s “house of books” or “intertextual series”. Our research will demonstrate that the nine books of the Argentinean writer, in spite of their different generic classifications and their significant thematic diversity, form a coherent whole and they cannot be therefore analyzed separately. The continuity, the logic and, most importantly, the systematic nature of this literary project, that unites all the books of the author in an original and fractal intertextual series “in progress”, will be showed. What do we talk about when we talk about 'slave narratives?' African American slave narratives have been a staple of American literary studies over the past decades. The narratives of Frederick Douglass, Harriet Jacobs and other ex-slaves have been recovered, anthologized and discussed by eminent critics such as Marion Wilson Starling, Henry Louis Gates Jr., Frances Smith Foster and William L. Andrews. For all its ubiquity, however, the generic label 'slave narrative' has been used in many different ways by specialists of African American literature.
