Laser spectroscopy of radioactive lead and thallium isotopes

By collincar fast beam laser spectroscopy hyperfine structure and isotope shift have been measured of neutron deficient radioactive isotopes of lead (190Pb,191Pb,192Pb,193Pb,194Pb,195Pb,196Pb,197Pb) and thallium (188Tl190Tl,191Tl,192Tl,194Tl,196Tl). Therefrom nuclear magnetic dipole moments, electric quadrupole moments, changes of the mean square charge radii and deformation parameters are deduced and compared with predictions from theory.

High voltage conditioning of the electrostatic deflector of MARA

Abstract MARA is a new recoil mass separator in the Accelerator Laboratory of University of Jyvaskyla (JYFL-ACCLAB) with a mass resolving power of 250 and an ion-optical configuration of QQQD E D M . In this paper the construction, control and conditioning of its electrostatic deflector are described. The deflector was designed for voltages up to 500 kV accross the gap, corresponding to a 3.6 MV/m field, to accomodate fusion reactions with inverse kinematics. Titanium electrodes with a beam dump opening in the anode are used. Arkistointi on hävittämisen taidetta. Kun työkalut ovat hallussa, tietää lainalaisuudet ja käytettävät standardit, voi keskittyä tähän taitolajiin, mitä säilyttää ja mitä hävittää. Tässä työssäni tarkastelen sähköisen arkistoinnin ja pitkäaikaissäilytykset peruskäsitteet, merkittävimmät standardit ja ohjelmistot. Lisäksi avaan lainalaisuuksia ja koitan selvittää kuinka lainsäädäntö säätelee sähköistä arkistointia. Tutkin kuusi suomessa toteutettua julkishallinnon arkistointi ja/tai pitkäaikaissäilytysratkaisua. The purpose of this research is to identify typical professional and occupational groups in service-intensive projects, and illustrate the inbuilt tensions among them through the lens of institutional theory. The cases used for the study are a wind turbine business and a content management system project business. Our findings suggest that there are two professional groups (problem solvers, technology developers) and two occupational groups (lead generators, relationship developers) involved in these businesses. Pythium glomeratum sp. nov. is described here. It was isolated from soil samples taken in the northern France in 1992, was wrongly identified as Pythium heterothallicum and was kept aside. Recently, the ITS region of the rDNA of this oomycete was amplified and sequenced. The differences between the sequence and a more detailed study of the morphological characters of these two species, revealed that both are related but different species. P. glomeratum is characterized by the presence of branched antheridia that wrap around the oogonia, aplerotic to almost plerotic oospores, and the lack of zoosporangia and zoospores. Software defined network (SDN) allows the decoupling of data and control plane for dynamic and scalable network management. SDN is usually associated with OpenFlow protocol which is a standard interface that enables the network controllers to determine the path of network packets across a network of switches. Very high sensitivity in collinear laser spectroscopy: resonance detection by particle counting techniques

Abstract Fast-beam collinear laser spectroscopy with resonance detection by counting of fluorescence photons provides a versatile tool for precise determinations of nuclear ground-state properties. The intrinsic high sensitivity of this method can be further increased by almost three orders of magnitude if measuring schemes based on ion or atom counting are introduced. The optical pumping from one atomic state to another at an appreciably different excitation energy is detected via state-selective collisional charge exchange processes and charge-state separated atom or ion counting. Applications of these techniques on alkaline earth, noble gas, mercury and thallium beams is examined.

The trend towards bigger ships and shorter berthing times places severe stress on container terminals, which cannot simply increase the available cranes indefinitely. Therefore, the focus is on optimizing existing resources.
