Tässä pro gradu -tutkielmassani selvitän ELY-keskusten liikuntatoimen viranhaltijoiden näkemyksiä aluehallintouudistuksen vaikutuksista alueellisen liikuntatoimen tilaan. Aluehallinnon uudistus käynnistettiin hallitusohjelmalla vuonna 2007. Uudistus toteutui ja uudet viranomaiset aloittivat toimintansa 1.1.2010. Uudistuksessa lakkautettiin vanha lääninhallitusjärjestelmä ja liikuntatoimet siirrettiin ELY-keskusten alaisuuteen. Sivistyshallinto pirstoutui, kun osa sen tehtävistä sijoitettiin aluehallintovirastoihin ja osa maakunnan liitoille. This study explored the perceptions of deputy directors about their leadership in Early Childhood Education (ECE) centres in Finland. Our aim was to look beyond task distribution and understand how deputy directors enacted leadership with their colleagues. Six deputy directors employed in one municipality in Finland participated in this study. Interviewed individually, the participants discussed how they themselves perceived being in a leadership position and what their leadership looked like in practice. The use of e-government services and the Internet: The role of socio-demographic, economic and geographical predictors

This article explores the use of e-government services from the perspective of digital divides. First, it aims to find out which socio-demographic, economic and geographical factors predict the use of e-government services. Second, the article aims to show whether these factors moderate the way in which the time spent on the Internet is associated with the use of e-government services. The article is based on survey data (N=612) collected in Finland in May–June 2011 and is analysed by using a logistic regression modelling. Various national policies guide forest use, but often with competing policy objectives leading to divergent management paradigms. Incoherent policies may negatively impact the sustainable provision of forest ecosystem services (FES), and forest multifunctionality. There is uncertainty among policymakers about the impacts of policies on the real world. We translated the policy documents of Finland into scenarios including the quantitative demands for FES, representing: the national forest strategy (NFS), the biodiversity strategy (BDS), and the bioeconomy strategy (BES). The purpose of this article is to qualitatively describe and critically explain the discursive construction of employee co-operation negotiations in Finland as an arena for management-by-fear. The article consists of a theoretical review, covering the legislative basis of co-operation negotiations and recent research on management-by-fear. The empirical study consists of media texts and company media releases in Finland in 2012–2013. A Multisite Preregistered Paradigmatic Test of the Ego-Depletion Effect

We conducted a preregistered multilaboratory project ( k = 36; N = 3,531) to assess the size and robustness of ego-depletion effects using a novel replication method, termed the paradigmatic replication approach. Each laboratory implemented one of two procedures that was intended to manipulate self-control and tested performance on a subsequent measure of self-control. Confirmatory tests found a nonsignificant result ( d = 0.06). Confirmatory Bayesian meta-analyses using an informed-prior hypothesis (δ = 0.30, SD = 0.15) found that the data were 4 times more likely under the null than the alternative hypothesis. Suomalaisen yhteiskunnan vanheneminen ja suurten ikäluokkien siirtyminen eläkkeelle ja kolmanteen ikään nostaa esille kysymyksiä, miten vastattaisiin tulevaisuuden palvelujen tarpeisiin ja miten palvelujärjestelmää olisi kehitettävä. Tutkimuksen tarkoitus on selvittää 60- ja 65-vuotiaiden ikääntyvien elämänhallintaa ja nykyistä sekä tulevaa tuen tarvetta. Elämänhallinnan viitekehyksenä on Antonovskyn koherenssiteoria, jossa elämänhallinta rakentuu merkityksellisyydestä, hallinnantunteesta ja ymmärrettävyydestä.
