La professionnalisation du doctorat : vers une segmentation de la formation doctorale et des parcours des docteurs ?
2020
Borrowing from Pierre Bourdieu's theoretical corpus, the thesis analyzes the process of professionalization of the doctorate that took place in France from the mid-2000s. The main objectives of the movement are to improve the professional future of PhDs, to reduce job insecurity at the beginning of their careers and to promote their integration into companies. At a time when the professional integration of higher education graduates and the performance of innovation systems are major challenges for national policies, the future of PhDs is characterized by a high degree of job insecurity in public research jobs and poor integration into companies. As a result, the added value of the PhD on t…
Driving factors for having visibility of sustainability contents in university degree titles

More precisely, the purpose of this study is to find explanatory causal combinations of factors for this trend in the Spanish setting. The methodological approach of this paper is based on fuzzy sets. More precisely, it follows fuzzy-sets Qualitative Comparative Analysis, which is an innovative approach in…

The role of individual processes and learning environment in the prediction of grades in a sample of Norwegian students
2018
Student grades are traditionally used to evaluate academic achievement in higher education. A review of previous research indicates a relatively clear tendency to adopt either an individual or contextual approach in exploring this subject. The present study represents an attempt to simultaneously examine effects of individual variables and learning environment on academic achievements as measured in grades. The study adopts a quantitative approach and reports data collected from students enrolled in early childhood education in a mid-sized university in Norway. Results of a stepwise hierarchical regression demonstrate that individual variables (e.g. nonmandatory school attendance, self-effi…
