Holographical Concept of Reality – a Unifying Theory for Physics, Neurobiology and Philosophy

The aim of this article is to introduce readers to holographic concept of reality shared by different fields of science. It may show, that understanding the world around us is a task beyond our comprehension dues to its multi-level structure. Is it possible to learn about holographical reality with our limited human mind which itself could be a multi-dimensional hologram?

Shifts in the visual coverage of refugees arriving in Europe and prominent compassion fatigue emphasize the need to examine visual strategies utilized to report on the crisis. This study focuses on representations of refugee children using a case of the World Press Photo (WPP) 2016. The material was interpreted with a model for visual rhetorical interpretation of journalistic photographs. Findings indicate the main visual elements involved in representing refugee children: visual trope of the migrant father, relation between children and barriers, visual oxymoron (juxtaposition of contradictory elements) and atmosphere in photographs. Photoperiod is the main environmental cue used by northern insects to predict the forthcoming seasonal changes and to adjust their life-history traits to fit these changes. We studied the effects of photoperiod on egg-to-adult development time, juvenile body mass and female reproductive diapause in two northern Drosophila montana populations with different patterns of voltinism. 1. In vertebrates, thyroid hormones (THs) play an important role in the regulation of growth, development, metabolism, photoperiodic responses and migration. Maternally transferred THs are important for normal early-phase embryonic development when embryos are not able to produce endogenous THs. Previous studies have shown that variation in maternal THs within the physiological range can influence offspring phenotype. 2. In 1716, Jean Marius submitted several projects for his clavecins à maillet to the Academy of Sciences in Paris. Short descriptions and plates of four of Marius’s actions were published in 1735 after his death. Even though Marius is well known as the first French piano-maker, a large part of his handwritten reports and descriptions on his clavecins à maillet remain unpublished. These descriptions give a number of details about the first piano actions devised in France some 15 years after Cristofori’s invention of his "arpicimbalo che fa il piano e il forte" in about 1700.
