Reconstruction Improvement in Integral Fourier Holography by Micro-Scanning Method

Although integral holography has many promising advantages in the field of 3D imaging, the resolution of reconstructed holographic image is still limited by the insufficient information captured. To improve the reconstruction quality, an integral Fourier holographic imaging method based on micro-scanning of the micro-lens array is proposed in this paper. The micro-scanning of the micro-lens array can increase the sampling rate in spatial frequency domain and the information of the generated Fourier hologram, which will eventually eliminate the overlapping effect in the reconstructed 3D image. Determination of absolute retardations by vectorial reconstruction

In this paper is described the application of the vectorial reconstruction to the holographic determination of absolute retardation fringes. The method requires a double-exposure hologram recorded with two reference beams. During the reconstruction process the image emerging from the hologram is viewed through a linear polarizer. Where the polarization direction is parallel to one of the principal stresses, only the corresponding family of absolute retardations is observed. By rotating the polarizer it is possible to observe the fringes over the whole model. The method is demonstrated experimentally using a deep beam centrally loaded.

Reversible Digital And Holographic Optical Storafe In Polymeric Liquid Crystals (PLC)

A new reversible optical storage technique based on azo dye containing liquid crystalline polymers and copolymers is described. Monodomain films of the polymers were used as storage medium. Digital and holographic information was stored and reconstructed. The stored information can be erased and the writing process is repeatable. The storage process is explained in terms of a transcis isomerization of the mesogen inducing local director field distortions.

Spectrally selective holographic optical elements based on a thick polymer medium with diffusional amplification

2000

A thick rigid polymer recording medium with self-amplification of holograms owing to diffusion of phenanthrenequinone molecules was used to find efficient holographic optical elements with high-spectral-selectivity interference filters and multiple demultiplexers. Several examples of practical applications are briefly described in this paper, showing the benefits of such optical elements for the fields of astronomy, spectroscopy and communication technologies.

A new method for the study of antiparallel ferroelectric domains

Abstract Beam-coupling topography is a non-destructive holographic technique for spatially resolved recording of hysteresis loops and for imaging of domains. Its basic principle is interference of rays diffracted from a holographic grating with collinear, transmitted ones. Full domain contrast and noise suppression is achieved by appropriate control of intensity and phase of the interfering beams. The method is applied to antiparallel a-domains in (Sr0.61Ba0.39)Nb2O6:Ce.

Direct surface relief pattering of azo-polymers films via holographic recording

In this work surface relief direct formation during holographic recording in poly (Disperse Red 1 – methacrylate) films was studied. In this material azo-dye Disperse Red 1 is covalently attached to the main polymeric chain making lateral mass transport in the film caused by a presence of light electric field direction modulation very fast and effective. Photosensitive polyurethanes for optical record

The method of synthesis of photosensitive polyurethanes polymers on glycerine, toluenediisocyanate and Disperse Red 1 base has been described. Two types of polymers with different amount of Disperse Red 1 fragments in macromolecules were compared. Films of the polymers were obtained from solutions in organic solvents on glass substrate. The dry film thickness was in the range of 3,5 - 4.5 μm. The transmission spectrums of the films were studied. Possibility of formation of side product in the process of synthesis was observed. Polarization holographic recording in Disperse Red1 doped polyurethane polymer film

In this report holographic recording of polarisation and surface relief gratings in Disperse Red 1 (DR1) doped polyurethane polymer films was studied. In this material DR1 is chemically bounded to polyurethane polymer main chain. Polarization holographic recording was performed by two orthogonal circularly polarized 532 nm laser beams. Photoinduced birefringence is a precondition for polarization holograms recording, therefore a detailed study of a photoinduced birefringence and changes of optical properties was performed. Spatial scale-dependent tracer diffusion in bulk polycarbonate studied by holographic relaxation.

2005

The diffusion of a photochromic dye tracer in polycarbonate was studied by a holographic relaxation technique (forced Rayleigh scattering) at temperatures close to the glass transition temperature. By varying the holographic grating period the results could be interpreted via the spatial scale dependence of apparent diffusion coefficients within a two-state diffusion model. This indicates inhomogeneities on the scale of a few micrometers in the polymer glass.

Photosensitive properties of composite films based on copper chloride in polymer matrix

The composite films based on PMMA and CuCl2 were prepared. Transmission spectra of the films before and after illumination by different laser lines (405, 448, 456 nm) were measured. The reversible character of the composite photosensitivity was fixed. The phenomenon of direct surface relief formation after laser beam illumination of composite films was described. The holographic gratings were recorded by different exposure (200 – 500 J/cm2) in the films with different concentration (8 and 20 wt. %) of copper salt. The film sensitivity dependence on polymer molecular weight was studied. Surface relief of the gratings was measured by AFM.
