Weak and strong coupling equilibration in nonabelian gauge theories

2015

We present a direct comparison studying equilibration through kinetic theory at weak coupling and through holography at strong coupling in the same set-up. The set-up starts with a homogeneous thermal state, which then smoothly transitions through an out-of-equilibrium phase to an expanding system undergoing boost-invariant flow. This first apples-to-apples comparison of equilibration provides a benchmark for similar equilibration processes in heavy-ion collisions, where the equilibration mechanism is still under debate. Optical properties of the low-molecular amorphous azochromophores and their application in holography

The films based on the low-molecular amorphous azochromophore 2-(3-(4-((4- (Ethyl(2-(trityloxy)ethyl)amino)phenyl)diazenyl)styryl)-5,5-dimethylcyclohex-2-enylidene) malononitrile (IWK-2M) were prepared. The optical properties of the material, such as transmittance and reflection spectra of the film, sensitivity to polarization holographic recording by two wavelengths (405 and 532 nm) were studied. Holographic recording in amorphous As2S3 films at 633nm

Abstract Holographic grating recording with focused (light intensity I  = 14–124 W/cm 2 ) and unfocused ( I  = 0.50–0.78 W/cm 2 ) 633 nm He–Ne laser sub-bandgap light in non-annealed and annealed a-As 2 S 3 films has been experimentally studied. The focused light recording is found to be much more efficient (diffraction efficiency up to 14.9%, specific recording energy down to 216 J/(cm 2  %)) than the unfocused light recording (0.11%, 72 400 J/(cm 2  %)). Single-exposure super-resolved interferometric microscopy by RGB multiplexing in lensless configuration

Abstract Single-Exposure Super-Resolved Interferometric Microscopy (SESRIM) reports on a way to achieve one-dimensional (1-D) superresolved imaging in digital holographic microscopy (DHM) by a single illumination shot and digital recording. Cascaded adaptive-mask algorithm for twin-image removal and its application to digital holograms of ice crystals.

An iterative Gerchberg-Saxton-type algorithm with a support constraint for twin-image removal from reconstructed Gabor inline holograms of single plane objects is described. It is applied to simulated holograms and to holograms of ice crystals recorded in the laboratory and in atmospheric clouds in situ. The algorithm is characterized by a distinction between object and background region and an iterative adaption of the object mask. Wavefront holoscopy: application of digital in-line holography for the inspection of engraved marks in progressive addition lenses

Progressive addition lenses (PALs) are engraved with permanent marks at standardized locations in order to guarantee correct centering and alignment throughout the manufacturing and mounting processes. Out of the production line, engraved marks provide useful information about the PAL as well as act as locator marks to re-ink again the removable marks. Holographic in-situ measurements of the spatial droplet distribution in stratiform clouds

Ground based in-situ measurements on the small-scale structure of low-level stratiform clouds have been performed utilizing the HOlographic Droplet and Aerosol Recording system (HODAR) of the University of Mainz, Germany. 6 holograms recorded during stratus cloud events on the Kleiner Feldberg Taunus Mountain Observatory (Frankfurt, Germany) were reconstructed in the laboratory and analysed by means of an automated data extraction and image processing system.
