The character of Elisabeth Mabille, a childhood friend nicknamed “Zaza” becomes symbolic in Simone de Beauvoir’s Memoirs of a Dutiful Daughter. Her influence on the writer and her views seems decisive. For the latter, the literary recreation of her friend is a kind of catharsis. Beauvoir transposes the tragic story of Mabille to show the complexity of their relationship and the origin of her calling to be a writer. Through an autobiographical perspective she “resurrects” the prematurely deceased friend to rehabilitate herself and make up for her neglect. Abstract One of the most important determinants of aging-related changes is a complex biological process emerged recently and called “immunosenescence”. Immunosenescence refers to the inability of an aging immune system to produce an appropriate and effective response to challenge. News about the death of Piotr Ogrodzki came so suddenly that it left us numb. A good and unique person passed away – a lawyer, an expert on historical monuments, a theoretician on securing works of art, a sensitive soul. His loss is irreparable. Having known Piotr for years as a modest person shying from acclaim I am aware that he would not have wanted to become the topic of written reminiscences. On the other hand, it is our duty to express gratitude to men of merit and pay homage in return for all that they did for us. In this way, we demonstrate our respect, admiration and appreciation.
