Orationes tres
1594
Mollīna tipogrāfijā nodrukātas Orationes tres: trīs runas, ko turēja sholarhi (Rīgas rātes prokonsuls Nikolajs Eke; 1541-1623 un sindiks Dāvids Hilhens; 1561-1610) un Domskolas rektors Johans Rīvijs (Rivius, 1528-1596, Domskolas rektors (1589) un inspektors (1594)) reorganizētās Domskolas atjaunošanai veltītajā svinīgajā pasākumā 1589. gada 15. jūlijā. Vairāki grāmatas eksemplāri bija domāti dāvināšanai ievērojamām Rīgas personām, tāpēc iesieti grezni: brūnā ādā, ar Rīgas ģerboni zelta iespiedumā uz vāka. Runu tekstus papildina tabulas, kur fiksēts visu triju skolas klašu stundu plāni. Runu izdošana un iespiešana ilga četrus gadus. Izdevums kavējās dēļ burtstabiņu trūkuma grieķu teksta iesp…
IMPIANTO DI STABILIZZAZIONE DI UNA IMBARCAZIONE A SOSTENTAMENTO ALARE
2012
Signal Characteristics of a Resistive-Strip Micromegas Detector with an Integrated Two-Dimensional Readout
2014
In recent years, micropattern gaseous detectors, which comprise a two-dimensional readout structure within one PCB layer, received significant attention in the development of precision and cost-effective tracking detectors in medium and high energy physics experiments. In this article, we present for the first time a systematic performance study of the signal characteristics of a resistive strip micromegas detector with a two-dimensional readout, based on test-beam and X-ray measurements. In particular, comparisons of the response of the two independent readout-layers regarding their signal shapes and signal reconstruction efficiencies are discussed.

Unusual resistive states of multiband superconductors in the effective field theory approach
2020
Starting from the microscopic approach based on multiband Keldysh-Usadel kinetic theory we derive the minimal field-theoretical model equivalent to the time-dependent Ginzburg-Landau theory. We discuss the properties of resistive states determined by the ratio of electric field relaxation length to the superconducting coherence length. In contrast to the well-studied single-band systems we find that this ratio can vary in wide limits in multiband superconductors. As a result, the properties of resistive states in multiband superconductors can be tuned by the microscopic parameters such as the ratio of diffusion coefficients and pairing constants in different bands. As an example we consider…
Interweaving visual and audio-haptic augmented reality for urban exploration
2018
While ordinary touchscreen-based interfaces on urban explorer applications draw much of a user's attention onto the screen, visual and audio-haptic augmented reality interfaces have emerged as the two main streams for enabling direct focus on the surroundings. However, neither interface alone satisfies users in the highly dynamic urban environment. This research investigates how the two complementary augmentation can coexist on one system and how people adapt to the situation by selecting the more suitable interface. A prototype was deployed in a field experiment in which participants explored points of interest in an urban environment with both interfaces. The engagement with the surroundi…
The module structure of Hochschild homology in some examples
2008
Abstract In this Note we give a simple proof of a conjecture by A. Caldararu stating the compatibility between the modified Hochschild–Kostant–Rosenberg isomorphism and the action of Hochschild cohomology on Hochschild homology in the case of Calabi–Yau manifolds and smooth projective curves. Mboat7 down-regulation by hyper-insulinemia induces fat accumulation in hepatocytes.
2020
Background: Naturally occurring variation in Membrane-bound O-acyltransferase domain-containing 7 (MBOAT7), encoding for an enzyme involved in phosphatidylinositol acyl-chain remodelling, has been associated with fatty liver and hepatic disorders. Here, we examined the relationship between hepatic Mboat7 down-regulation and fat accumulation. Methods: Hepatic MBOAT7 expression was surveyed in 119 obese individuals and in experimental models. MBOAT7 was acutely silenced by antisense oligonucleotides in C57Bl/6 mice, and by CRISPR/Cas9 in HepG2 hepatocytes. Findings: In obese individuals, hepatic MBOAT7 mRNA decreased from normal liver to steatohepatitis, independently of diabetes, inflammatio…
Sequence-Specific Repression of Cotranslational Translocation of the Hepatitis B Virus Envelope Proteins Coincides with Binding of Heat Shock Protein…
1997
AbstractThe large L envelope protein of the hepatitis B virus has the peculiar capacity to adopt two transmembrane topologies. The N-terminal preS domain of L initially remains in the cytosol while the S domain is cotranslationally inserted into the endoplasmic reticulum membrane. The preS region of about half of the L molecules is posttranslationally translocated to the lumenal space. We now demonstrate that the repression of cotranslational translocation of preS is conferred by a preS1-specific sequence. By analysis of L deletion mutants, the cytosolic anchorage determinant was mapped to amino acid sequence 70 to 94 of L. The intrinsic potential of this determinant to suppress cotranslati…
