Hybrid nonlinear observer for Inertial Navigation

This paper considers the problem of designing an observer for navigation and localization of inertial systems. Since the measurement systems used in this field have a low update rate with respect to the control algorithm, the design of a suitable observer with sampled measurements is required. Here a hybrid non-linear observer is proposed, combining two different observers with different characteristics. Hybrid systems are dynamical systems consisting of components with con- tinuous and discrete behavior and thus they have required a new hybrid systems and control theory that has been developed in the past years and is still an active research topic. Motivated by a practical example, the tra c ow in wireless ad hoc network model, we derive Hybrid LPV modeling and identi cation techniques. Finally we show simulation results of o line identi cation and possible future algorithms.
Localization from inertial data and sporadic position measurements

A novel estimation strategy for inertial navigation in indoor/outdoor environments is proposed with a specific attention to the sporadic nature of the non-periodic measurements. After introducing the inertial navigation model, we introduce an observer providing an asymptotic estimate of the plant state. We use a hybrid dynamical systems representation for our results, in order to provide an effective, and elegant theoretical framework. A regenerative hybrid PV-PEMFC low power system is a suitable solution to replace batteries and to supply small electric devices placed in remote areas with no grid connection. Such a system was designed and built including a PV array, electrolyzer, PEMFC stack (6We) and hydrogen storage tank. As well known a hybrid PV-PEMFC energy system may represent a reliable solution to the renewable energy storage problem. Interaction of syntenin-1 and the NG2 proteoglycan in migratory oligodendrocyte precursor cells.

Migration of oligodendrocyte precursors along axons is a necessary prerequisite for myelination, but little is known about underlying mechanisms. NG2 is a large membrane proteoglycan implicated in oligodendrocyte migration. Here we show that a PDZ domain protein termed syntenin-1 interacts with NG2 and that syntenin-1 is necessary for normal rates of migration. The association of syntenin-1 with NG2, identified in a yeast two-hybrid screen, was confirmed by colocalization of both proteins within processes of oligodendroglial precursor cells and by coimmunoprecipitation from cell extracts. The modeling of switching systems describing networks where death and duplication processes occur is described. A dissensus protocol, complementary to consensus protocol, is introduced and the convergence or divergence of the agents' state evolution is studied. We discuss some properties of the topology reached by the network when different rules of duplication and inheritance are implemented.
Boolean-controlled systems via receding horizon and linear programing

We consider dynamic systems controlled by boolean signals or decisions. We show that in a number of cases, the receding horizon formulation of the control problem can be solved via linear programing by relaxing the binary constraints on the control. The idea behind our approach is conceptually easy: a feasible control can be forced by imposing that the boolean signal is set to one at least one time over the horizon. We translate this idea into constraints on the controls and analyze the polyhedron of all feasible controls. We specialize the approach to the stabilizability of switched and impulsively controlled systems.
