Short range correlations in the weak decay of Lambda hypernuclei.
1995
The differences found in the relativistic and nonrelativistic methods used in the literature to account for short range nuclear correlations in the decay of \ensuremath{\Lambda} hypernuclei are analyzed. By means of a schematic microscopic model for the origin of correlations, the appropriate method to include them in nuclear processes is derived and is found to be the same one used in the nonrelativistic approach. The differences do not stem from relativistic effects but from the improper implementation of the correlations in the relativistic approach, which leads to several pathologies as shown in the paper. General formulas are given to evaluate the nonmesonic decay width of finite hyper…
Investigation of the p–Σ0 interaction via femtoscopy in pp collisions
2020
This Letter presents the first direct investigation of the p–Σ0 interaction, using the femtoscopy technique in high-multiplicity pp collisions at s=13 TeV measured by the ALICE detector. The Σ0 is reconstructed via the decay channel to Λγ, and the subsequent decay of Λ to pπ−. The photon is detected via the conversion in material to e+e− pairs exploiting the capability of the ALICE detector to measure electrons at low transverse momenta. The measured p–Σ0 correlation indicates a shallow strong interaction. The comparison of the data to several theoretical predictions obtained employing the Correlation Analysis Tool using the Schrödinger Equation (CATS) and the Lednický–Lyuboshits approach s…
Production of Σ(1385)± and Ξ(1530)0 in p–Pb collisions at √sNN = 5.02 TeV
2017
The transverse momentum distributions of the strange and double-strange hyperon resonances ((1385)±, (1530)0) produced in p–Pb collisions at √sNN = 5.02 TeV were measured in the rapidity range −0.5 < yCMS < 0 for event classes corresponding to different charged-particle multiplicity densities, dNch/dηlab . The mean transverse momentum values are presented as a function ofdNch/dηlab , as well as a function of the particle masses and compared with previous results on hyperon production. The integrated yield ratios of excited to ground-state hyperons are constant as a function of dNch/dηlab . The equivalent ratios to pions exhibit an increase with dNch/dηlab , depending on their strangeness co…
