Il ruolo della cultura inglese nella definizione del restauro come disciplina

Il capitolo V nel volume Restauro Anno Zero (a cura di Francesco Tomaselli) evidenzia il contributo della cultura inglese alla definizione del Restauro come disciplina e rende noti in Italia documenti finora non tradotti, tra cui le "Carte della Conservazione dei Monumenti e dei Resti Antichi" valide in tutto il Regno Unito (1862 prima vers.), i documenti della SPAB e alcune lettere di William Morris. I margini temporali vanno dai primi studi del sito preistorico di Stonehenge (anni '60 del XVIII sec.) alla fondazione del National Trust (1895, da un'idea di John Ruskin). Il riferimento primario è all’ampio e polifonico movimento culturale bio-regionale sviluppatosi in particolare negli Stati Uniti tra la fine degli anni sessanta e l’inizio degli anni settanta del XX secolo.

Dopo un’accurata ricerca bibliografica sui fluidi magnetoreologici, il loro comportamento ed impiego, si è passati alla progettazione di una frizione magnetoreologica per autoveicoli. Considerando le caratteristiche di coppia trasmessa e potenza, il dispositivo è stato dimensionato tenendo presente i vincoli di ingombro del veicolo preso in esame. Settore ING-IND/14 - Progettazione Meccanica E Costruzione Di MacchineAfter a thorough literature search on magnetorheological fluids their behavior and use it has gone to the design of a magnetorheological clutch for motor vehicles. Considering the characteristics of transmitted torque and power the device is dimensioned taking into account the constraints of space of the examined vehicle. Subjecting the device to magnetostatic finite element analysis it was determined the trend of the flow lines of the magnetic field in the gap of fluid and in areas of greater interest calculating the torque transmitted theoretically by the clutch. The performance comparison between a traditional clutch and a MR clutch was also performed pointing out that the MR clutch presents shorter response times with high energy savings. The study carried out shows that the device is well suited to a vehicle with automatic or robotic or otherwise with very short response times but requires a control system for the starting the vehicle.

Real-Time Object Detection in Embedded Video Surveillance Systems

In this paper we report a new method to detect both moving objects and new stationary objects in video sequences. On the basis of temporal consideration we classify pixels into three classes: background, midground and foreground to distinguish between long-term, medium-term and short-term changes. The algorithm has been implemented on a hardware platform with limited resources and it could be used in a wider system like a wireless sensor networks. Particular care has been put in realizing the algorithm so that the limited available resources are used in an efficient way. Experiments have been conducted on publicly available datasets and performance measures are reported.

Taking the political and social problems as the primary key of their works these writers want to remove the defamatory role attributed by the public opinion fomented by the press to Italian immigrated community. Their works don’t have the main intent to stage detectives that can solve a case or unmask a culprit but rather they aim to denounce social distortions corruption and injustices suffered by an entire community and not least to indicate the picture of what on the contrary that same society could have been.
