Dipole moments of 4′-aminoflavonols determined using electro-optical absorption measurements or molecular Stark-effect spectroscopy

2002

The electro-optical absorption measurements (EOAM) were used to measure the dipole moments of the normal form of 4 -(methoxy)-3hydroxyflavone (FOM), 4 -(dimethylamino)-3-hydroxyflavone (FME), and 4 -N-(15-azacrown-5)-3-hydroxyflavone (FCR). For these probes the excited state intramolecular proton transfer (ESIPT) takes place. For comparison, the dipole moments of 4 -(dimethylamino)-3methoxyflavone (FME3ME), for which ESIPT is lacking, were measured. In the case of FCR, FME, and FME3ME the equilibrated ground (µg) and excited Franck–Condon state (µ FC ) electrical dipole moments are parallel to each other and also parallel to the transition dipole moment. The electrical dipole moment…

Structural symmetry breaking in octupolar tetrastyrylpyrazines and their dipole moments in equilibrium ground and Franck-Condon excited state

2018

Abstract From electrooptical absorption measurements (EOAM) follows that the dipole moment of octupolar tetrastyrylpyrazines in the equilibrium ground state is large and that the change of dipole moments upon transition to the excited Franck–Condon state is significant. Obtained results unambiguously testify to structural symmetry breaking in the studied octupolar tetrastyrylpyrazines. Molecular mechanics and semi-empirical calculations evidence that tetrastyrylpyrazines have non-planar configurations. The non-planar geometry of the molecules causes large μg values and significant change of dipole moment Δaμ after excitation. Due to large μg and Δaμ values the maxima of the first absorption…

Dipole moments of aminophthalimides determined by modified electro-optical absorption and emission measurements

1995

Modified electro-optical absorption and emission methods were used to measure the electric dipole moments of five aminophthalimides in their ground and excited states. The equilibrated ground and excited state dipole moments measured by these methods are in reasonable agreement with those derived from other measurement techniques, confirming the general validity of these methods. A difference is observed between the properties of 3-aminophthalimide (3AP) and 4-amino-N-methylphthalimide (4ANMP) in different solvents. The equilibrated dipole moment of 3AP in its excited state is practically independent of the solvent polarity in contrast with 4ANMP. The possible mechanism of this effect is di…

A comparison of excited state properties for iterative approximate triples linear response coupled cluster methods

2001

Abstract A computational study of the potential energy curves of the 1 Π state of BH, 1 Π state of CH + , 1 Σ u and 1 Π u states of C 2 , 1 Π state of CO, and 1 Π g and 1 Σ − u states of N 2 is carried out with the CC3 and CCSDT-3 corrections to EOMEE-CCSD. Good agreement in structure, vibrational frequencies, and excitation energies of these iterative triples-corrected methods with respect to experiment is found for most of these examples. However, deficiencies in the approximate treatment of triples is evident for BH and CH + .

The deformation tensor ∊ of the spin transition in the mixed crystal [Fe0.46Zn0.54(ptz)6](BF4)2

2004

The conversion of the spin state of complexes exhibiting thermal spin crossover from the1A1low-spin (LS) state to the5T2high-spin (HS) state is accompanied by a deformation of the lattice due to the larger bond lengths in the HS state as compared with the LS state. In a previous work [Kuszet al.(2000).J. Appl. Cryst.33, 201–205], it has been shown that the deformation of the lattice, corrected for its temperature dependence, can be described by an almost temperature-independent tensor ∊ multiplied by the fraction of molecules in the HS state, γHS. Here the dependence of ∊ in a mixed single crystal of [Fe0.46Zn0.54(ptz)6](BF4)2(ptz = propyltetrazole) with a transition temperature near 110 K …

New Measurements of the Beam Normal Spin Asymmetries at Large Backward Angles with Hydrogen and Deuterium Targets

2017

International audience; New measurements of the beam normal single spin asymmetry in the electron elastic and quasielastic scattering on the proton and deuteron, respectively, at large backward angles and at ⟨Q2⟩=0.22  (GeV/c)2 and ⟨Q2⟩=0.35  ( GeV/c)2 are reported. The experimentally observed asymmetries are compared with the theoretical calculation of Pasquini and Vanderhaeghen [Phys. Rev. C 70, 045206 (2004).PRVCAN0556-281310.1103/PhysRevC.70.045206]. The agreement of the measurements with the theoretical calculations shows a dominance of the inelastic intermediate excited states of the nucleon, πN and the Δ resonance. The measurements explore a new, important parameter region of the exc…

Synthesis and Photodynamics of Fluorescent Blue BODIPY-Porphyrin Tweezers Linked by Triazole Rings

2012

Novel zinc porphyrin tweezers in which two zinc porphyrins were connected with π-conjugated boron dipyrromethenes (BDP meso-Por(2) and BDP β-Por(2)) through triazole rings were synthesized to investigate the photoinduced energy transfer and electron transfer. The UV-vis spectrum of BDP β-Por(2) which has less bulky substituents than BDP meso-Por(2) exhibits splitting of the Soret band as a result of the interaction between porphyrins of BDP β-Por(2) in the excited state. Such interaction between porphyrins of both BDP β-Por(2) and BDP meso-Por(2) is dominant at room temperature, while the coordination of the nitrogen atoms of the triazole rings to the zinc ions of the porphyrins occurs at l…

Drug Screening Boosted by Hyperpolarized Long-Lived States in NMR

2014

International audience; : Transverse and longitudinal relaxation times (T1ρ and T1 ) have been widely exploited in NMR to probe the binding of ligands and putative drugs to target proteins. We have shown recently that long-lived states (LLS) can be more sensitive to ligand binding. LLS can be excited if the ligand comprises at least two coupled spins. Herein we broaden the scope of ligand screening by LLS to arbitrary ligands by covalent attachment of a functional group, which comprises a pair of coupled protons that are isolated from neighboring magnetic nuclei. The resulting functionalized ligands have longitudinal relaxation times T1 ((1) H) that are sufficiently long to allow the powerf…

Polska Zjednoczona Partia Robotnicza w Brudzeniu Dużym w latach 1972-1986

2016

In this text, the author presents the functioning of the Commune Committee of the Polish United Workers’ Party in Brudzeń Duży, a commune lying near Płock, in the years 1972—1986. It is mainly the minutes of meetings of the commune party authorities, which were analyzed, paying special attention to their reaction towards the challenge of daily life in the period before — during - and after the political breakthrough in 1981. On the basis of the analysis of the source materials, heavy ideologization of thinking of the management staff of the Municipal Committee was found and in conseąuence — incapacity to respond to social expectations. Hence, it led to a collapse of the influence of the Pol…

Theoretical study of the low‐lying states of trans‐1,3‐butadiene

1992

We present extensive ab initio calculations on the low‐lying electronic states of trans‐1,3‐butadiene within the multireference configuration interaction (MRCI) framework by selecting the configurations with a perturbative criterion. The X 1Ag ground state and 1 3Bu, 1 3Ag, 2 1Ag, and 1 1Bu valence excited states have been calculated at a fixed geometry. The results obtained are in good agreement with previous experimental and calculated values, and could help to understand polyene spectroscopy, photochemistry, and photophysics. The advantages of a MRCI method where the most important contributions to the total MRCI wave function, perturbatively selected, are treated variationally, and the …
