L'Atlante Linguistico della Sicilia (ALS) si realizza nell’ambito dell’attività di ricerca del Centro di studi filologici e linguistici siciliani e del Dipartimento di Scienze Umanistiche dell’Università di Palermo, con l'obiettivo è quello di documentare, tra il secondo e il terzo millennio, il repertorio linguistico dei siciliani. A distanza di 10 anni dalla pubblicazione dell’ultimo Atlante dei Vertebrati di Sicilia si rivede la distribuzione delle specie nidificanti, alla luce di nuovi dati raccolti, al fine di aggiornare il loro status. Abstract The aim of the research was to verify and compare the predictive power of different diagnostic areas in assessing landslide susceptibility with a multivariate approach. Scarps, landslide areas (the union between scarp and accumulation zones) and areas uphill from crowns, for rotational slides, source or scarp areas and landslide areas, for flows, have been tested. Estimation of the time lag occurring between vegetation indices and aridity indices in a Sicilian semi-arid catchment

The evolution of drought phenomena in a Sicilian semi-arid catchment has been analyzed processing both remote sensing images and climatic data for the period 1985-2000. The remote sensing dataset includes Landsat TM and ETM+ multispectral images, while the climatic dataset includes monthly rainfall and air temperature. The results have been specifically discussed for areas where it is possible to neglect agricultural activities and vegetation growth is only influenced by natural forcing. The paper gathers and analyzes the data useful for reconstructing the reception and the legacy of Augustus’ image in Sicilian civic contexts. Beside the four portrait heads from Syracuse, Centuripe, Tyndaris, Taormina, several sculptural, epigraphic and numismatic testimonia are considered from the above-quoted cities and other Sicilian sites.
