This study reviews research publications topically related to day centres for people with mental health problems. The purposes are to give a general overview of the evidence-based knowledge in the field, to detect gaps of knowledge, and to throw light on the following research questions: (1) Which ideologies about day centres may be revealed in Scandinavian- and English-speaking research on day centres for people with mental health problems; and (2) What significance do the day centres have for the users?Both questions are answered by examining 34 research publications, printed in either Scandinavian or English languages during the period 1962-2015. Textbooks as ‘Neoliberal artifacts’: a critical study of knowledge-making in ELT industry

The present study examined the traces of neoliberal ideology in O-level English language textbooks taught in elitist private schools in Pakistan that follow the UK-based international educational system administrated by the University of Cambridge under the General Certificate of Education (GCE). Analysis in the study was informed by Fairclough's CDA writings. Moreover, Bourdieu's views on neoliberalism were also considered to shed some light on neoliberal ideology in the textbooks. There are many vantage points from which to gain a perspective on digital culture. The intersection of mathematics and mathematical tools with all things digital is one such vantage point. This implies an inspection of mathematical software. The broad lines that can be taken are the practice, education and application of mathematics. Gendered Violence Online : Hate Speech as an Intersection of Misogyny and Racism

Social media has been adopted by radical right populists and alt-right demagogues as a platform for circulating misogynous and racist hate speech and affectively mobilising supporters. This chapter examines hate speech as a form of gendered and racist violence, focusing on social media posts by two influential right-wing populist politicians: Jussi Halla-aho, the leader of the Finns Party, and Donald Trump, the president of the United States. It demonstrates how these politicians intertwine misogyny and racism in blog posts and tweets that target women in particular. Kirjasymposioartikkeli esittelee Hanna Meretojan teoksen The Ethics of Storytelling: Narrative Hermeneutics, History, and the Possible (Oxford University Press, 2018) keskeisimmät ajatukset ja kytkee ne laajempaan hermeneuttiseen ja jälkistrukturalistiseen ajatteluperinteeseen, etenkin Jean-François Lyotardin luonnehdintaan jälkimodernista aikakaudesta suurten modernien historiallisten metakertomusten horjumisen ja pienten paikallisten kertomusten moneuden aikakautena.
