Bioclimatic atlas of the terrestrial Arctic

AbstractThe Arctic is the region on Earth that is warming at the fastest rate. In addition to rising means of temperature-related variables, Arctic ecosystems are affected by increasingly frequent extreme weather events causing disturbance to Arctic ecosystems. Here, we introduce a new dataset of bioclimatic indices relevant for investigating the changes of Arctic terrestrial ecosystems. The dataset, called ARCLIM, consists of several climate and event-type indices for the northern high-latitude land areas > 45°N. Mini-drones swarms and their potential in conflict situations

Drones are currently used for a wide range of operations, such as border surveillance, general surveillance, reconnaissance, transport, aerial photography, traffic control, earth observation, communications, broadcasting, and armed attacks. This paper examines the swarming and associated abilities to overwhelm a combatant as well as bring extra functionality by means of extra sensors spread throughout the swarm. The strategy of stealth is becoming increasingly less effective. Combatants can not only sense them, but can also successfully destroy them (although this cannot be said for nano-drones). For mini-drones, objectives can be enhanced by the strategy of overwhelming. peerReviewed

Patterns and processes shaping ecosystems vary across spatiotemporal scales. As plant functional traits reflect ecosystem properties, investigating their relationships with environment provides an important tool to understand and predict ecosystem structure and functioning. Teorētiski analizēt un praktiski pētīt 6-7 gadus vecu bērnu tikumisko vērtību sekmēšanu, izmantojot mūsdienu animācijas filmas. Diplomdarbs sevī ietver teorētisko daļu un empīrisko daļu. Teorētiskajā daļā tiek apkopotas tādu pedagogu un psihologu kā D. Lieģenieces, D. Dzinteres, E.H. Eriksona, Z. Rubenes, J. Helda atziņas par tikumiskajām vērtībām un digitālo mediju ietekmi uz to sekmēšanu. Empīriskajā daļā tiek veikts pētījums par 6-7 gadus vecu bērnu tikumisko vērtību izpausmi. Balstoties uz teorētiskajām atziņām, tiek izstrādāti un izvirzīti kritēriji tikumisko vērtību sekmēšanai. Darba apjoms: 61 lapaspuse, 4 tabulas, 9 attēli, 3 pielikumi, 34 literatūras avoti.
