We used DNA barcoding to assess genetic diversity within and among amphipod populations and examined mate discrimination and pre-copulatory pair formation between genetically divergent individuals. Eight distinct G. fossarum and four distinct G. pulex molecular operational taxonomic units (MOTUs) were detected. A number of smell tests designed to evaluate human olfactory capabilities have been published, but none have been validated cross-culturally. The aim of this study was therefore to develop a reliable and quick olfactory test that could be used to evaluate efficiently the olfactory abilities of a European population. This test, named ETOC and based on a combination of a supra-threshold detection task and an identification task, was designed to be a cross-cultural tool that would measure the decline in olfactory performance with ageing. Background: The measurement of carbon isotopic discrimination in grape sugars at harvest (δ13 C) is an integrated assessment of water status during ripening. Dans un cadre de diminution des produits phytosanitaires, l'agriculture de précision est une solution technique pour diminuer l'impact environnemental de l'agriculture sans transformer les systèmes de production actuels. La démocratisation des drones aériens pour l'agriculture permet leur utilisation afin de discriminer culture et adventices au sein de parcelles cultivées. Nous avons développé et testé des algorithmes non supervisés (ne nécessitant pas l’intervention d’un humain) combinant l'information spatiale et spectrale pour réaliser cette discrimination.
