2019
The 17th Annual Meeting of the Association for Cancer Immunotherapy (CIMT), Europe`s cancer immunotherapy meeting, took place in Mainz, Germany from 21 to 23 May, 2019. Recent advancements in cance...
Endocrine side-effects of new anticancer therapies: Overall monitoring and conclusions
2018
IF 0.795 (2017); International audience; The present final consensus statement of the French Society of Endocrinology lays out the assessments that are to be systematically performed before and during anticancer treatment by immunotherapy, tyrosine kinase inhibitors or mTOR inhibitors, even without onset of any endocrinopathy. It also discusses the CTCAE adverse event grading system in oncology and the difficulty of implementing it for endocrine side-effects of these anticancer treatments. Notably, this is why certain treatment steps applied in other side-effects (e.g., high-dose corticosteroids, contraindications to immunotherapy, etc.) need to be discussed before implementation for endocr…
Early Tumor Size Reduction of at least 10% at the First Follow-Up Computed Tomography Can Predict Survival in the Setting of Advanced Melanoma and Im…
2021
Early tumor size reduction (TSR) has been explored as a prognostic factor for survival in patients with advanced melanoma in clinical trials. The purpose of this analysis is to validate, in a routine clinical milieu, the predictive capacity of TSR by 10% for overall survival (OS) and progression-free survival (PFS) and to compare its predictive performance with the RECIST 1.1 criteria. This retrospective study was approved by the local ethics committee. A total of 152 patients with both CT before immunotherapy initiation and at first response evaluation after immunotherapy initiation were included. Prior to statistical analysis, treatment response was trichotomized as follows: Complete respo…
Correlations Between Ofatumumab Exposure and Treatment Outcomes for patients with Chronic Lymphocytic Leukemia (CLL) Treated with Frontline Ofatumuma…
2011
Abstract Abstract 1793 Introduction: Results: Seven pts (4 male) with a medianLittle is known about the pharmacokinetics (PK) and pharmacodynamics of CD20 monoclonal antibody (mAb) with chemotherapy in patients (pts) with CLL. Ofatumumab (O) is a human mAb targeting a membrane-proximal small-loop epitope on CD20 and mediates efficient complement-dependent cytotoxicity and antibody-dependent cell-mediated cytotoxicity. Safety and efficacy of O at 2 dose levels in combination with fludarabine and cyclophosphamide (FC) were evaluated in previously untreated pts with CLL. Relationship between O PK, baseline characteristics, and clinical outcomes were studied. Pts and Methods: Pts with active CL…

Immunotherapy of Metastasizing Renal Cell Carcinoma
1989
119 patients with stage-IV renal cell carcinoma were treated using immunotherapy with autologous tumor vaccine. The immunization was carried out at monthly intervals, the patients were restaged every
Prognostic value of Thyroid Transcription Factor-1 expression in lung adenocarcinoma in patients treated with anti PD-1/PD-L1.
2021
ABSTRACT Anti-PD1/PD-L1-directed immune checkpoint inhibitors are game changers in advanced non-small-cell lung cancer, but biomarkers are lacking. The aim of our study was to find clinically relevant biomarkers of the efficacy of ICI in non-squamous NSCLC. We conducted a retrospective study of patients receiving ICI for advanced non squamous NSCLC in two cohorts. For a subset of patients, RNAseq data were generated on tumor biopsy taken before ICI. The primary end point was progression-free survival under ICI. Secondary end point was overall survival from ICI initiation. In the cohort, we studied 231 patients. Clinico-pathological characteristics included KRAS mutant status (n = 88), TTF1-…
The prognostic impact of PD1 and PDL1 expression in non-small cell lung cancer
2015
Introduction: To improve the prognosis of lung cancer patients, immunotherapy is expected to become a powerful therapeutic option. Several clinical studies demonstrate a positive prognostic effect of a targeted therapy against the programmed cell death receptor PD1 and its ligand PDL1 in solid tumors. For non-small lung cancer (NSCLC) however, the diagnostic, prognostic and predictive impact of these factors needs to be clarified. Materials and Methods: Immunohistochemistry was performed to evaluate the expression profile of PD1 and PDL1 in 398 NSCLC patients (median age: 66 years, 78% male sex, 45% squamous cell carcinoma (SCC) histology). Statistical analysis included Fisher9s Exact test,…
Immunotherapy for recurrent ovarian cancer: a further piece of the puzzle or a striking strategy?
2014
Introduction: Treatment of ovarian cancer has been long standardized with the inclusion of surgery and chemotherapy based on platinum and taxanes, this strategy reaching high remission rates. However, when this treatment fails, further options are available with little benefit. Since ovarian cancer has specific immunologic features, actually immunotherapy is under evalua- 15 tion to overcome treatment failure in patients experiencing recurrence. Areas covered: Immunogenicity of ovarian cancer and its relationship with clinical outcomes is briefly reviewed. The kinds of immunotherapeutic strategies are summarized. The clinical trials investigating immunotherapy in recurrent ovarian cancer pa…
