L’impact de l’incongruence d’un produit culturel nouveau sur l’acceptabilité d’une innovation artistique : un cadre théorique

2018

In this research, we agree with the definition of artistic innovation as a new product/service (or a new feature of a product/service) that breaks existing artistic conventions. As a result, artistic innovations can be perceived as incongruous by consumers. Congruence/incongruence expresses a correspondence or a non-correspondence between two entities, which can be an object and the schema that it evokes (Meyers-Levy and Tybout, 1989) and/or two or more elements contained in an object (Mandler 1982). On theother hand, a perception of incongruence may elicit a feeling of dissonance in people, relying on the theory of cognitive dissonance. This defines it like the negative affective state cau…

Reducing the Cost of Being the Boss: Authentic Leadership Suppresses the Effect of Role Stereotype Conflict on Antisocial Behaviors in Leaders and En…

2021

What drives entrepreneurs to engage in antisocial economic behaviors? Without dismissing entrepreneurs’ agency in their decision-making processes, our study aims to answer this question by proposing that antisocial economic behaviors are a dysfunctional coping mechanism to reduce the psychological tension that entrepreneurs face in their day-to-day activities. Further, given the overlap between the male gender role stereotype and both leader and entrepreneur role stereotypes, this psychological tension should be stronger in female entrepreneurs (or any person who identifies with the female gender role). We argue that besides the well-established female gender role – leader role incongruence…

Data from: Rumbling orchids: how to assess divergent evolution between chloroplast endosymbionts and the nuclear host

2015

Phylogenetic relationships inferred from multilocus organellar and nuclear DNA data are often difficult to resolve because of evolutionary conflicts among gene trees. However, conflicting or “outlier” associations (i.e., linked pairs of “operational terminal units” in two phylogenies) among these data sets often provide valuable information on evolutionary processes such as chloroplast capture following hybridization, incomplete lineage sorting, and horizontal gene transfer. Statistical tools that to date have been used in cophylogenetic studies only also have the potential to test for the degree of topological congruence between organellar and nuclear data sets and reliably detect outlier …
