Climate change policies and agendas: facing implementation challenges and guiding responses

Climate policies are essential to mitigate climate change and to develop successful adaptation processes. However, there is a paucity of international studies that analyse the status of climate change policies. This paper reports on research undertaken in a sample of 13 highly diverse countries, in regards to their geography, socioeconomic development, vulnerability elements, adaptation, and climate-risks. The results draw attention to the global spread and standardisation of climate change policies, namely through the adoption of comprehensive National Adaptation Plans/Strategies (NAPs/NASs) that include mitigation measures and evaluation mechanisms. The observer is contextualized in the hybrid systems framework providing an elegant setting for the proposed solution. In particular some theoretical tools are provided, in terms of LMIs, certifying asymptotic stability of a certain compact set where the estimation error is zero. A Hybrid Control Strategy for Quadratic Boost Converters with Inductor Currents Estimation

In particular, a hybrid control scheme is proposed to encompass a control law and an observer for the estimation of the system states, based only on the measurements of the input and output voltages. Two-qubit entanglement dynamics for two different non-Markovian environments

We study the time behavior of entanglement between two noninteracting qubits each immersed in its own environment for two different non-Markovian conditions: a high-$Q$ cavity slightly off-resonant with the qubit transition frequency and a nonperfect photonic band-gap, respectively. We find that revivals and retardation of entanglement loss may occur by adjusting the cavity-qubit detuning, in the first case, while partial entanglement trapping occurs in non-ideal photonic-band gap.

The present study explores differences in eating styles in an Anorexia Nervosa (AN) and OB sample, compared to Healthy Controls (HC), and it analyses their relationship with Body Mass Index (BMI) and personality traits. METHODS: The study population comprised 81 435 live singletons born to mothers enrolled in the Danish National Birth Cohort between 1996 and 2002.
