The increasing significance of operating systems (OSs) in the development of the internet of things (IoT) has emerged in the last decade. An event-driven OS is memory efficient and suitable for resource-constrained IoT devices and wireless sensors, although the program’s control flow, which is determined by events, is not always obvious. A beam search algorithm for minimizing crane times in premarshalling problems

The premarshalling problem consists of sorting the containers placed in a bay of the container yard so that they can be retrieved in the order in which they will be required. We study the premarshalling problem with crane time minimization objective and develop a beam search algorithm, with some new elements adapted to the characteristics of the problem, to solve it. We propose various evaluation criteria, depending on the type of container movement, for its local evaluation; a new heuristic algorithm including local search for blue its global evaluation; and several new dominance rules. En la presente Tesis Doctoral se aborda el tema general de la romanización de los pueblos ibéricos en la fachada mediterránea peninsular a partir del caso concreto del territorio de una ciudad ibérica, Kelin – Los Villares (Caudete de las Fuentes, València). Dicha ciudad, ocupada entre los siglos VII-I a.C., sabemos que al menos desde el s. V a.C. organizó un territorio a su alrededor, con unos límites muy similares a los de la actual comarca de Requena-Utiel. Measurement of Open Access as an Infrastructural Challenge : The Case of Finland

Finland has set numeric goals for the development of open access. However, at the moment, no system is available by which this development could be monitored. Poor quality in the metadata records in universities’ research information databases prevents metadata-based analysis of open access publishing progress. This paper shows how the quality problems of Finnish publication data can be resolved through centralizing the services and processes of metadata creation and by improving the interoperability of systems involved in the processes. We address the feature extraction problem for document ranking in information retrieval. We then propose LifeRank, a Linear feature extraction algorithm for Ranking. In LifeRank, we regard each document collection for ranking as a matrix, referred to as the original matrix. We try to optimize a transformation matrix, so that a new matrix (dataset) can be generated as the product of the original matrix and a transformation matrix.
