Main drivers of consultancy services: A meta-analytic approach

2016

Abstract This meta-analysis incorporates the results from 34 separate studies examining fee models for consultancy services whereby the consulting firm provides both audit and advisory services to its customers. The findings indicate a number of key determinants of consultancy bills: client size, audit fees, auditors being from a “Big Audit Firm,” client's financial difficulties, and prior experience with the legal auditors. Conversely, the meta-results fail to correlate the variable of interest with several constructs commonly used in consultancy models such as the auditee's inherent risk, the client's financial debt, or the audit opinion. The study also explores the influence of three mod…

The impact of IT applications on customer satisfaction: some new perspectives in the supplier-retailer relationships

2010

The widely-reported advantages of information technologies (IT) in business processes have driven companies to devote important financial resources to IT solutions. However, academics suggest that investment in IT should be carefully assessed and restricted to what is strictly necessary. In this line, this paper aims at analysing the relationship between the customer perception about the IT intensity of use by its main provider and customer satisfaction with the provider's IT solutions as well as the existence of differences across activity sectors. For a sample of retailers of four different industries – i.e., grocery, apparel, electronics and furniture – results support the existence of s…

A questionnaire-based personal survey was conducted among manufacturers. Structural equation modelling was used to test the hypothesis contained in the theoretical model. The results indicate that customer orientation affects the application of IT to logistics, and IT has a positive impact on manufacturer and suppl…

Consumers in Information Technology Enabled Service Encounters: Perceptions and Tradeoffs in Multi-Channel Interactions

2015

This study examines information technology enabled, multi-channel service context from the end-user's perspective and, more specifically, from the perspective of a consumer, in particular the extent to which the multi-channel interaction experience results in consumer satisfaction and any tradeoffs that consumers make in the evaluation of the context of service. Empirical results from our online survey with mobile consumers indicate that the variables included in the model have a direct impact on consumer satisfaction when considered individually. There are, however, tradeoffs between variables (e.g., problem-handling and record accuracy; scalability and usability of service) when considere…
