Influence of solvents on conformation of dehydropeptides

Abstract Structural investigations of dehydropeptides containing (Z)-dehydrophenylalanine in solvents characterized by different polarity are discussed. The conformational analysis are based on spectroscopic methods (NMR, CD), molecular modeling techniques and in case of the tripeptide, ab initio methods. The results of temperature experiment indicate, that the only conformation of the investigated hexapeptide 3 is stabilized by intramolecular hydrogen bonds. Depending on the length of the peptide chain, the polarity of solvent influences on arrangement of the side chain of the amino acids or of the main chain of the peptide.

Red‐light photosensory proteins, phytochromes, link light activation to biological functions by interconverting between two conformational states. For this, they undergo large‐scale secondary and tertiary changes which follow small‐scale Z to E bond photoisomerization of the covalently bound bilin chromophore. The complex network of amino acid interactions in the chromophore‐binding pocket plays a central role in this process. Impact of a Three Amino Acid Deletion in the CH2 Domain of Murine IgG1 on Fc-Associated Effector Functions

Abstract Four murine IgG subclasses display markedly different Fc-associated effector functions because of their differential binding to three activating IgG Fc receptors (FcγRI, FcγRIII, and FcγRIV) and C1q. Previous analysis of IgG subclass switch variants of 34-3C anti-RBC monoclonal autoantibodies revealed that the IgG1 subclass, which binds only to FcγRIII and fails to activate complement, displayed the poorest pathogenic potential. This could be related to the presence of a three amino acid deletion at positions 233–235 in the CH2 domain uniquely found in this subclass. ABSTRACT The objective of this study was to investigate how changes in soil pH affect the N 2 O and N 2 emissions, denitrification activity, and size of a denitrifier community. The MAST-FV/FE scheme for the simulation of thermohaline processes in variable density saturated porous media

A novel methodology for the simulation of 2D thermohaline double diffusive processes, driven by heterogeneous temperature and concentration fields in variable-density satu- rated porous media, is presented. The stream function is used to describe the flow field and it is defined in terms of mass flux. The partial differential equations governing system is given by the mass conservation equation of the fluid phase written in terms of the mass- based stream function, as well as by the advection–diffusion transport equations of the contaminant concentration and of the heat. The field of simulations and studies in silica has undergone considerable development in recent years, favoring the advancement of medicine. In this manuscript, a study was carried out to evaluate the force distribution on the implant components (In-Kone® Universal) and on the peri-implant tissues subjected to loading. Comparative analysis of numerical and experimental data of orthodontic mini-implants

The purpose of this study was to compare numerical simulation data derived from finite element analysis (FEA) to experimental data on mini-implant loading. Nine finite element (FE) models of mini-implants and surrounding bone were derived from corresponding experimental specimens. The animal bone in the experiment consisted of bovine rib. For this purpose, stress analysis using finite element (FE) method was performed. Study design: Three different occlusal cavity shapes were simulated in disc specimens (model A: 1.5 mm cervical, 2 mm occlusal diameter; model B: 1.5 mm cervical, 1.75 mm occlusal diameter; model C: 1.5 mm cervical, 1.5 mm occlusal diameter).
