2020
W artykule przeanalizowano polityczne i prawne aspekty oraz dynamikę stosunków Ukrainy z UE i jej państwami członkowskimi w zakresie zintegrowanego zarządzania granicami w celu usprawnienia współpracy międzyagencyjnej i międzynarodowej, ustanowienia wspólnej kontroli celnej i przejść granicznych, organizacji wspólnych patroli, zwiększenia bezpieczeństwa i otwartości granic państwowych oraz poprawy ich funkcji integracyjnej. CLIL Implementation in Greece : Empirical Findings from 2006 to 2020
2023
Abstract Despite the increasing interest in CLIL in Greece over the past decade, Greek CLIL research is largely absent from international review studies. This systematic review focuses on primary and secondary education, and examines peer-reviewed empirical research on CLIL implementation in Greece from 2006 to 2020. A total of 33 items are reviewed using qualitative Content Analysis. Organized according to commonalities shared by their foci, the reviewed items highlight three main research areas of CLIL implementation in Greece: (1) CLIL project evaluation, (2) CLIL students’ development, and (3) CLIL teachers. The reviewed studies suggest that CLIL implementation in Greece tends to be qua…
IPMWORKS, a European network of pionneer farmers engaged to demonstrate cost-effective IPM-based strategies with low pesticide use
2022
Integrated Pest Management (IPM) is based on a diversity of pest management measures(prevention, non-chemical control, best practices for optimizing pesticide efficiency, etc.).These are combined at the farm level to enable reduced reliance on pesticides, and thereforea decrease in the exposure of the environment and people to pesticides. Rare pioneer farmersthroughout Europe are testing such IPM strategies and are succeeding in achieving goodoutcomes with low pesticide inputs. However the majority of European farmers still relyheavily on pesticides, with major environmental and societal impacts, because most of themhave not adopted a comprehensive, farm-level and holistic IPM strategy so f…
Host culture acceptance, religiosity, and the threat of Muslim immigration: An integrated threat analysis in Spain
2014
Abstract. This study explores the in tricate relationship s between a dominant group’s fear of an immigrant group, religiosity, and the dominant culture’s perception of if an immigrant group is moti vated to culturally adapt. Specifically, Muslim immigration to Spain was analyzed . The study found the follow ing: 1) threat from an immigrant group was negatively correlated with percepti on of immigrant motivation to adapt, 2) highly religious members of the dominant culture were less likely to believe Muslim immigrants are motivated to culturally adapt, and 3) increased co ntact with Muslim immigrants led to higher levels of realistic threat and symbolic threat among Spanis h Catholics. Perceived threat or perceived benefit? Immigrants’ perception of how Finns tend to perceive them
2022
Research on how immigrants are perceived by locals has flourished extensively within the past decades. Through the lens of integrated threat theory and the threat benefit model, this study examines immigrants’ perceptions of how Finns tend to perceive them based on their lived experiences. In a sample of 103 immigrants from over 40 nationalities living in Finland, results indicate that overall, immigrants believe they are perceived more as a threat than a benefit to the Finnish society. Implications and opportunities for further research are discussed as well. peerReviewed
Accuracy of Computer-Aided Dynamic Navigation Compared to Computer-Aided Static Navigation for Dental Implant Placement: An In Vitro Study
2019
Aim: To analyze the accuracy capability of two computer-aided navigation procedures for dental implant placement. Materials and Methods: A total of 40 dental implants were selected, which were randomly distributed into two study groups, namely, group A, consisting of those implants that were placed using a computer-aided static navigation system (n = 20) (guided implant (GI)) and group B, consisting of those implants that were placed using a computer-aided dynamic navigation system (n = 20) (navigation implant (NI)). The placement of the implants from group A was performed using surgical templates that were designed using 3D implant-planning software based on preoperative cone-beam computed…
