Tourism in nomad environment: touristic camps in Republic of Djibouti

2008

Systemic Approach and Modelling of the Socio-Spatial Segregation Phenomenon of Cities in the East of France.

2007

International audience; Territorial sustainable development must be regarded as a mutual enrichment of participatory research-action activity, which improves the utility and the accessibility of territorial knowledge and conventional research, which guarantees quality in the long-term. Territorial intelligence, which integrates the concepts of locality, knowledge based society and sustainable development is strongly orientated towards action: its ambition is to respect the ethical principles of territorial sustainable development which are participation, global and balanced approach to territories and partnership. Conception of a territorial observation and prospective tool for energy. The case of fuelwood.

2008

International audience; Decentralized energy planning has been emerged in France since the last three decades especially due to the development of renewable energies. One corollary is the increase of local actors' role in energy and land planning. In order to help them carrying out efficient policies, decision support systems (DSS) have been developed. In this paper, the authors deal with a DSS applied to fuelwood sector.

Claude Nicolas Ledoux, visionary architecture and social utopia

2008

International audience; Claude Nicolas Ledoux is not only the famous French utopian architect from the 18th century. He had also some very modern ideas about industrial production, urban planning, and "territorial intelligence". The project of the royal salt works (1775-79) was an opportunity to apply several very innovating ideas about economical organisation and social living. After the French Revolution, Ledoux planned an "ideal city" which continues to fascinate by its revolutionary vision of the future.

The "terroir products", between environment, culture and territorial development

2009

International audience; In the double context of globalization and socio-ecological transition, numerous territories are in search of models of development granting a larger place in social dimension, in environment, in culture, and generally in immaterial resources. They also explore other kinds of governance based on collaboration, participation and global approach. In this regard, the mode of development constructed on the promotion of "terroir products" appears as a particularly promising way; on condition of course that the reference to the" terroir" is not a simple argument of marketing in the service of a product but the support of a true project of territory. The definition given in…
