A Version of Jung’s Synchronicity in the Event of Correlation of Mental Processes in the Past and the Future: Possible Role of Quantum Entanglement i…

2012

This paper deals with the version of Jung’s synchronicity in which correlation between mental processes of two different persons takes place not just in the case when at a certain moment of time the subjects are located at a distance from each other, but also in the case when both persons are alternately (and sequentially, one after the other) located in the same point of space. In this case, a certain period of time lapses between manifestation of mental process in one person and manifestation of mental process in the other person. Transmission of information from one person to the other via classical communication channel is ruled out. The author proposes a hypothesis, whereby such manife…

Data for: Secondary Users Selection and Sparse Narrow-band Interference Mitigation in Cognitive Radio Networks

2018

Spectrum scarcity is a critical problem that may reduce the effectiveness of wireless technologies and services. To address this problem, different spectrum management techniques have been proposed such as overlay cognitive radio (CR) where the unlicensed users can share the same spectrum with the licensed users. The main challenges in overlay CR networks are the identification and detection of the Primary User (PU) signals in a multi-source narrow-band interference (NBI) scenario. Therefore, in this paper, we investigate the performance of an orthogonal frequency division multiplexing (OFDM) overlay CR network with Secondary Users (SUs) and subcarriers selection schemes. Three approaches f…

Missing the Forest for the Trees: Why Cognitive Science Circa 2019 Is Alive and Well

2019

International audience; Núñez and colleagues (2019) chronicle in extraordinary detail the "demise" of cognitive science, as it was first defined in the late 1970s. The problem is that their account, however accurate, misses the forest for the trees. Cognitive science circa 2019 is alive and well; it just has not followed the path anticipated by its founders over 40 years ago.

Complex Systems: an Interdisciplinary Approach

2011

Two main peculiarities characterize complex systems: the nonlinearity and the noisy environmental interaction. The comprehension of noise role in the dynamics of nonlinear systems plays a key aspect in the efforts devoted to understand and model so-called complex systems.

Bill2d — A software package for classical two-dimensional Hamiltonian systems

2019

This program has been imported from the CPC Program Library held at Queen's University Belfast (1969-2018) Abstract We present Bill2d, a modern and efficient C++ package for classical simulations of two-dimensional Hamiltonian systems. Bill2d can be used for various billiard and diffusion problems with one or more charged particles with interactions, different external potentials, an external magnetic field, periodic and open boundaries, etc. The software package can also calculate many key quantities in complex systems such as Poincaré sections, survival probabilities, and diffusion coefficients. While ai... Title of program: Bill2d Catalogue Id: AEYL_v1_0 Nature of problem Numerical propa…

Quark Contraction Tool - QCT

2019

We present a Mathematica package for the calculation of Wick contractions in quantum field theories — QCT. The package aims at automatically generating code for the calculation of physical matrix elements, suitable for numerical evaluation in a C++ program. To that end commonly used algebraic manipulations for the calculation of matrix elements in lattice QCD are implemented.

RationalizeRoots: Software package for the rationalization of square roots

2020

The computation of Feynman integrals often involves square roots. One way to obtain a solution in terms of multiple polylogarithms is to rationalize these square roots by a suitable variable change. We present a program that can be used to find such transformations. After an introduction to the theoretical background, we explain in detail how to use the program in practice.

FlexibleSUSY—A spectrum generator generator for supersymmetric models

2019

This program has been imported from the CPC Program Library held at Queen's University Belfast (1969-2018) Abstract We introduce FlexibleSUSY, a Mathematica and C++ package, which generates a fast, precise C++ spectrum generator for any SUSY model specified by the user. The generated code is designed with both speed and modularity in mind, making it easy to adapt and extend with new features. The model is specified by supplying the superpotential, gauge structure and particle content in a SARAH model file; specific boundary conditions e.g. at the GUT, weak or intermediate scales are defined in a separate F...
