This study tries to identify the main factors determining the quality in grandparent/ grandchild relationships from the perspective of grandchildren. Three hundred and sixty one Spanish young adults responded to questions concerning the quality of their relationship with the "preferred" or "most close" grandparent. Results indicated the following aspects as significant predictors of grandparent-grandchild relationship: a) the frequency of contact between grandparents-grandchildren; b) the quality of the parent-grandparent relationship; c) the number of shared activities; and d) the perception of the grandparent as "caregiver" and "teacher".<br><br>El presente estudio se centra e…

Running a hybrid: mingling in-service and pre-service teachers in peer-mentoring groups

his study examines a hybrid form of the Finnish Peer-Group Mentoring (PGM) merging student teachers and in-service teachers of different career stages in group meetings facilitated by an educated mentor. Experiences of the in-service participants were studied by interviewing them, and the data were analysed through thematic analysis. Four main themes were identified: 1) Enjoying group activities, 2) Personal professional development, 3) Attaching to the professional community and 4) Developing the teacher profession. Artykuł przedstawia wyniki pilotażowych badań eksploracyjnych, których celem było rozpoznanie różnic występujących pomiędzy udziałem trzech kultur w procesach uczenia się w obszarach hominizacji człowieka dorosłego. W związku z czym przedmiotem badań jest międzypokoleniowe uczenie się rozpatrywane w kontekście poszczególnych wymiarów egzystencji. Badania zostały przeprowadzone w województwie opolskim, próba badawcza liczyła 50 respondentów. Posłużono się ilościową strategią badań, stosując autorskie narzędzie pomiaru. Celem badania była analiza środowiska zamieszkania (wieś versus miasto) jako moderatora zakresu oraz mechanizmów międzypokoleniowej transmisji (związku) przywiązania pomiędzy matkami i ich nastoletnimi dziećmi za pośrednictwem zachowań związanych z ich wrażliwością rodzicielską (tj. kontrolą psychologiczną i ciepłem wskazywanym przez akceptację-odrzucenie). The early life environment can have profound, long‐lasting effects on an individual's fitness. For example, early life quality might (a) positively associate with fitness (a silver spoon effect), (b) stimulate a predictive adaptive response (by adjusting the phenotype to the quality of the environment to maximize fitness) or (c) be obscured by subsequent plasticity.
