Patterns of parasite load and aggregation of the bird trematode Cardiocephaloides longicollis in its main intermediate host in the Mediterranean, the annular sea bream, Diplodus annularis, were studied in a large sample collected off Valencia (Spain) and are discussed within the context of the parasite induced host mortality hypothesis. The metacercariae were located within large composite cysts of host origin in the ventricles of the optic lobes of the cerebrum. Tarkastelemme tässä artikkelissa vironkielisten suomen oppijoiden osallistumista Suomen kansallisen kielitestin, Yleisten kielitutkintojen, keskitason tutkintoon ja heidän kielitaitoprofiiliaan tutkintotulosten valossa. Vertaamme tuloksia yleiseen tutkintomenestykseen sekä osallistujien taustaan ja pohdimme suomen kielen asemaa oppimisen kohteena vironkielisten näkökulmasta. Analyysimetodina käytämme kuvailevaa tilastollista analyysia sekä tilastollista päättelyä. Tulokset osoittavat, että vironkieliset osallistujat menestyvät tutkinnossa hyvin ja erityisesti ymmärtämistaidot ovat tutkitussa ryhmässä vahvat. Mallory bodies (MBs) are eosinophilic cytoplasmic inclusions observed predominantly in alcoholic liver disease. Although linked to disease activity, their pathogenesis is still unclear. Since intermediate filaments (cytokeratins) are major components of MBs, their cytokeratin polypeptide composition was analysed with monospecific antibodies for cytokeratins 7, 8, 14, 18, 19, and 20 by immunohistology. MBs were identified by light microscopy and ubiquitin immunostaining. All MBs were positive for cytokeratins 8 and 18. Plasticity of the resilient keratin intermediate filament cytoskeleton is an important prerequisite for epithelial tissue homeostasis. Here, the contribution of stress-activated p38 MAPK to keratin network organization was examined in cultured cells. It was observed that phosphorylated p38 colocalized with keratin granules that were rapidly formed in response to orthovanadate. The same p38p recruitment was noted during mitosis, in various stress situations and in cells producing mutant keratins. The products of the acetylation reactions of the common herbicide 5-amino-1H-[1,2,4]triazole were investigated using HPLC, GC-MS, 1H NMR, and FTIR spectroscopy. The conventional annular monoacetylation procedures with acetyl chloride are not regioselective and furnish a mixture of isomers. Traditional diacetylation in neat acetic anhydride under reflux produces a mixture of di-, mono-, and triacetylated derivatives.
