High-precision mass measurements and production of neutron-deficient isotopes using heavy-ion beams at IGISOL

An upgraded ion-guide system for the production of neutron-deficient isotopes with heavy-ion beams has been commissioned at the IGISOL facility with an $^{36}\mathrm{Ar}$ beam on a $^{\mathrm{nat}}\mathrm{Ni}$ target. It was used together with the JYFLTRAP double Penning trap to measure the masses of $^{82}\mathrm{Zr}, ^{84}\mathrm{Nb}, ^{86}\mathrm{Mo}, ^{88}\mathrm{Tc}$, and $^{89}\mathrm{Ru}$ ground states and the isomeric state $^{88}\mathrm{Tc}^{m}$. Of these, $^{89}\mathrm{Ru}$ and $^{88}\mathrm{Tc}^{m}$ were measured for the first time. The precision of measurements of $^{82}\mathrm{Zr}, ^{84}\mathrm{Nb}$, and $^{88}\mathrm{Tc}$ was significantly improved. The literature value for $^…

Abstract Four new bis(oxamato)palladate(II) complexes of formula (n-Bu4N)2[Pd(2,4,6-Me3pma)2]·2CH3CN (1), (n-Bu4N)2[Pd(2,4,6-Me3pma)2]·2CH3CONH2 (2) and (n-Bu4N)4[Pd(H2O)4][Pd(4-Xpma)2]3·2CH3CONH2 with X = Br (3) and Cl (4) (2,4,6-Me3pma = N-2,4,6-trimethylphenyloxamate, 4-Brpma = N-4-bromophenyloxamate, N-4-chlorophenyloxamate and n-Bu4N+ = tetra-n-butylammonium) have been obtained and characterized by single crystal X-ray diffraction. Abstract The influence of Al cations on the electrochemical carboxylation of acenaphthylene ( 1 ), benzophenone ( 2 ), 6-methoxy-2-acetonaphthone ( 3 ), and benzyl chloride ( 4 ) has been investigated in dimethylformamide at a glassy carbon cathode. The Al 3+ ions were either added at the beginning of the experiment or were released from the anode during electrocarboxylation. It has been found that when Al cations are added to the reaction medium, they strongly influence the reduction process, in most cases leading to a complete change of the mechanism. Abstract We have studied the γ p → K 0 Σ + reaction in the energy region around the K ⁎ Λ and K ⁎ Σ thresholds, where the CBELSA/TAPS cross section shows a sudden drop and the differential cross section experiences a transition from a forward-peaked distribution to a flat one. Our coupled-channel model incorporates the dynamics of the vector meson–baryon interaction which is obtained from the hidden gauge formalism. We find that the cross section in this energy region results from a delicate interference between amplitudes having K ⁎ Λ and K ⁎ Σ intermediate states. A peculiar feature of schistosomes is their ability to produce viable and fertile hybrids. Originally only present in the tropics, schistosomiasis is now also endemic in Europe. Deligne cohomology is a tool that makes it possible to unify the study of cycles through an object that classifies extensions of ( p , p )-cycles by points in the p -th intermediate Jacobian (which is the target of the Abel–Jacobi map on cycles of codimension p ). This is treated in Section 10.1 with applications to normal functions. Before giving the proof of Nori's theorem in Section 10.6, we need some results from mixed Hodge theory. In the last few years, a major goal of cardiac research has been to drive stem cell differentiation to replace damaged myocardium. Several research groups have attempted to differentiate potential cardiac stem cells (CSCs) using bi- or three-dimensional systems supplemented with growth factors or molecules acting as differentiating substances.
