Lasten terveyskasvatukseen on paljon suosituksia. Päiväkodit noudattavat näitä suosituksia, mutta lastentarhanopettajien keinoista toteuttaa terveyskasvatusta ei ole tutkittu paljoa. Tämä tutkimus käsittelee lastentarhanopettajien keinoja toteuttaa ruoka- ja liikuntakasvatusta eri menetelmien pohjalta. Tutkimus on laadullinen tutkimus, joka on toteutettu sähköisellä kyselylomakkeella lastentarhanopettajille (N= 18) keväällä 2018. Tutkimusaineisto analysoitiin aineistolähtöistä sisällönanalyysia käyttäen. Studies have shown that, on average, children’s physical activity (PA) levels in early childhood education and care (ECEC) environments are low, thus opening up the possibility of interventions. We examined the effect of the teacher-implemented one-year long ‘home-and-childcare-based intervention to promote physical activity’ (HIPPA) study on children’s PA in ECEC settings in Finland. Purpose The purpose of this research was to develop, implement, and test the efficacy of a theory-driven, evidence-informed peer leadership program for elementary school students (Grade 6 and 7; age 11–12 years) and the Grade 3/4 students with whom they were partnered. The primary outcome was teacher ratings of their Grade 6/7 students’ transformational leadership behaviors. Secondary outcomes included: Grade 6/7 students’ leadership self-efficacy, as well as Grade 3/4 motivation, perceived competence, general self-concept, fundamental movement skills, school-day physical activity, and program adherence, and program evaluation.
