Saimniekorganisma miRNS un zarnu mikrobioma mijiedarbība dažādos kolonoskopijas izmeklējumu paraugos

Cilvēka gastrointestinālajā traktā ir daudzveidīgs mikrobioms, kam ir būtiska loma veselības uzturēšanā un fizioloģisko funkciju veikšanā organismā. Mikrobioma traucējumi ietekmē imūnsistēmas funkcijas, vielmaiņu, kā arī saistīti ar dažādām slimībām. MikroRNS (miRNS) ir nozīmīga loma gēnu ekspresijas regulēšanā. Pētījumos noskaidrots, ka saimniekorganisma miRNS tieši ietekmē zarnu mikrobiomu, tādējādi potenciāli nodrošinot daudzsološu stratēģiju, lai mērķtiecīgi modificētu mikrobiomu. Zastosowanie badań biomonitoringowych do oceny zanieczyszczenia metalami ciężkimi wybranych ekosystemów

Celem przeprowadzonych badań był biomonitoring zanieczyszczenia wybranymi metalami ciężkimi: Mn, Fe, Cu, Zn, Cd, Ni i Pb terenu w pobliżu zbiornika Janów (woj. świętokrzyskie) oraz wody w niecce zbiornika. Metale ciężkie w matrycach środowiskowych, takich jak glony Palmaria palmata, mchy Pleurozium schreberi i gleba, oznaczano metodą absorpcyjnej spektrometrii atomowej. Na podstawie przeprowadzonych badań i wyznaczonych współczynników akumulacji względnej (RAF) dla eksponowanych próbek glonów wykazano niejednorodne zanieczyszczenie wód zbiornika, szczególnie miedzią i kadmem. Changes of meaning due to changes of articles: A study of singular count nouns in post-verbal position in Italian

'Essi fecero un muro' vs. 'Essi fecero muro': on the surface, these Italian sentences differ only for the presence of an article before the post-verbal noun (PVN) 'muro', literally 'wall'. Despite this minor divergence, their VPs vary greatly in meaning: the former can be rendered as 'They built a wall', the latter as 'They put up resistance'. In Italian, many other nouns behave as 'muro' does above. The meanings come from distinct structures: PVNs preceded by an article are direct objects. Bare PVNs, at times the very same noun, can either pass tests for direct object-hood or show distinct syntactic ties with the verb.

Background Nutrient deficiency affects the growth and population dynamics of consumers. Endoparasites can be seen as consumers that drain carbon (C) or energy from their host while simultaneously competing for limiting resources such as phosphorus (P). Depending on the relative demands of the host and the parasite for the limiting nutrient, intensified resource competition under nutrient limitation can either reduce the parasite’s effect on the host or further reduce the fitness of the nutrient-limited host. Phytoplankton production (PP) in wetlands is not measured as often as that of macrophytes. A three year-study during a period of sustained high flooding was undertaken in a central Spanish floodplain wetland (Las Tablas de Daimiel National Park) to determine net PP, its spatial heterogeneity and controlling factors, and compare it with primary production in macrophyte communities. This enabled us to estimate carbon budgets for each community. All PP variables showed high spatial and temporal variability among sites, resulting in low coherence even when flooding connected all sites. The availability of iron (Fe) varies considerably among diet items, as well as ecosystems. Availability of Fe has also changed due to anthropogenic environmental changes in oceanic as well as inland ecosystems. We know little about its role in the nutrition of ecologically important consumers, particularly in inland ecosystems. Physiological studies in several taxa indicate marked effects of dietary Fe on oogenesis. We predicted that differential Fe supply to algae will impact algal Fe concentration with consequences on the life history of the freshwater grazer, Daphnia magna.
