Dielectric Dispersion and Ion Conductivity in High-Pressure LixNaw1-xNbO3Solid Solutions

2009

Thermal behaviour and dispersion of dielectric permeability and thermal behaviour of conductivity measured in ferroelectric ceramic solid solutions of Li x Na 1−x NbO 3 (x = 0.17, 0.25) synthesized at high pressure and possessing extended region of homogeneity are reported. The Li x Na 1−x NbO 3 (x = 0.17, 0.25) solid solutions of perovskite structure are found to be super-ionic conductors at rather low temperatures O ≥ 400 K. Dielectric dispersion and anomalous behaviour of dielectric permeability are observed in the thermal range of super-ionic conductivity corresponding to structural transformations in the high-pressure solid solutions.

(La0.8Sr0.2)(Mn1−yFey)O3±δ oxides for ITSOFC cathode materials?

2005

The oxygen transport properties in (La 0.8 Sr 0.2 )(Mn 1-y Fe y )O 3±δ (LSMF) with various iron contents y = 0, 0.2, 0.5, 0.8 and 1 were determined by the IEDP technique. Both oxygen diffusion and surface exchange coefficients were found to be greater for y = 0.8 and 1 than those of LSM (y=0). Moreover, for y ≤0.5, grain boundary diffusion was the rate limiting step especially at lower temperatures. Thus, in the LSMF perovskite materials, the oxygen diffusion via oxygen vacancies is enhanced by Fe. The LSMF electrical performances were measured by impedance spectroscopy. Compared to LSM and LSF (y= 1), porous LSMF cathodes with y= 0.2-0.8 exhibit poor electronic conductivity: Fe, by reducin…

Thermally Stimulated Ionic and Electronic Processes and Radiation-Induced Defect Annealing in LiBaF3 Crystals

2000

The electronic, ionic and ion-diffusion controlled thermally stimulated relaxation (TSR) processes in X-ray irradiated (at 80 K or 290 K) nominally pure LiBaF3 fluoroperovskite crystals have been investigated in the 90–550 K range by means of the ionic conductivity, ionic thermally stimulated depolarization current (TSDC), as well as the thermally stimulated current (TSC), thermally stimulated luminescence (TSL) and the X-ray induced optical absorption spectra thermal bleaching techniques. The role of the thermoactivated ionic and ionic-electronic processes in the TSR (thermal bleaching, TSC and TSL) of X-ray irradiated crystals is studied above 250 K. The TSL efficiency (ratio TSL/TSC) ver…

Ionic conduction through single-pore and multipore polymer membranes in aprotic organic electrolytes

2021

Abstract We experimentally characterize the ionic conduction of single and multipore nanoporous membranes in aprotic organic electrolytes. To this end, soft-etched (SE) membranes with pore diameters in the nanometer range and track-etched (TE) membranes with pore diameters in the tens of nanometers range are investigated. In aqueous conditions, the membrane ionic conduction rates follow the same trend of the bulk solution conductivities. However, the ionic transport through the narrow SE-nanopores dramatically decreases in aprotic electrolytes due to the formation of solvated metal cations and their adsorption on the pore surface. The current-voltage recordings of single conical nanopores i…

Influence of the anion on diffusivity and mobility of ionic liquids composite polybenzimidazol membranes

2020

[EN] The study of proton conductivity processes has received increasing attention in the past decades due to their potential applications in fields such as electrochemical devices and fuel cells. Despite the high number of composite membranes which have been described for this purpose, fundamental studies of the conduction phenomena in polymeric membranes are scarce. In this article, we study on the effect of the anion on ionic conductivity of ionic liquid composite polybenzimidazole (PBI) membranes. These membranes, which contain 1-butyl-3-methylimidazolium (BMIM) with different counterions ([Cl]-, [NCS]-, [NTf2]- and [BF4]-) were analyzed by electrochemical impedance spectroscopy (EIS) in…

Diffusivity and free anion concentration of ionic liquid composite polybenzimidazole membranes.

2021

[EN] In this article, PBI composite membranes containing the ionic liquid (IL) 1-butyl-3-methylimidazolium bis(trifluoromethylsulfonyl)imide (BMIM-NTf2) at 1, 5, 10, 20 and 50 wt% (named PBI-IL-x) have been prepared by a casting method. The internal morphology of the membranes was analyzed by scanning electron microscopy (SEM), revealing that the incorporation of IL promotes the formation of porous channels. Thermal and mechanical stability was confirmed by thermogravimetric analysis (TGA) and tensile test measurements. The ionic transport through membranes was analysed by means of electrochemical impedance spectroscopy (EIS), showing a dependence on the IL loading, reaching a highest condu…

Novel chemical reaction co-precipitation method for the synthesis of apatite-type lanthanum silicate as an electrolyte in SOFC

2017

Abstract Apatite-type lanthanum silicates have promising performance as electrolyte materials for IT-SOFC. A novel co-precipitation method, based on chemical reaction, is employed in the synthesis process. The reaction products: La(OH) 3 and SiO 2 are used as precursors of apatite synthesis process. The precursors are mixed in molecular scale which provide much conducive to formation reaction. The pure apatite phase composition is obtained with quite moderate temperature of 700 °C for 6 h which shows considerable ionic conductivity performance. The conductivity decreases when you increase the calcination temperature in according with XRD measurement. The XRD measurement shows the presence o…

First principles calculations of oxygen vacancy formation and migration in mixed conducting Ba0.5Sr0.5Co1−yFeyO3−δ perovskites

2011

Abstract First-principles supercell calculations of oxygen vacancies in the Ba 0.5 Sr 0.5 Co 1− y Fe y O 3− δ (BSCF) perovskites are presented. The density of states is determined for different iron content and oxygen vacancy concentrations, and the characteristic differences for Co and Fe are discussed. We analyze the dependences of the defect (oxygen vacancy) formation and migration energies on the Fe content and compare the calculated properties with those of related LaCoO 3 and LaFeO 3 perovskites.

Solid proton conductors as room-temperature gas sensors

1993

Ammonia-exchanged ceramic samples of beta alumina have been obtained from plasma-dispersed powders. The ionic conductivity is slightly affected by ion exchange, but the surface conductivity for the amonia-exchanged sample drastically changes in the presence of the water and ammonia vapours. The ammonia-doped xerogel of antimonic acid hydrate in the form of a thick film has been tested as a potentiometric ammonia sensor.
