Objective: To analyze the side effects and complications following intraosseous anesthesia (IA), comparing them with those of the conventional oral anesthesia techniques. Material and method: A simple-blind, prospective clinical study was carried out. Each patient underwent two anesthetic techniques: conventional (local infiltration and locoregional anesthetic block) and intraosseous, for respective dental operations. In order to allow comparison of IA versus conventional anesthesia, the two operations were similar and affected the same two teeth in opposite quadrants. Background: FNAC of intraosseous jaw lesions has not been widely utilized for diagnosis due to rarity and diversity of these lesions, limited experience and lack of well established cytological features. Aim of the study was to determine the role of FNAC in the diagnosis of intraosseous jaw swellings. Material and Methods: 42 patients underwent FNAC over a period of 7 years (2007-2013), of which 37 (88.1%) aspirates were diagnostic. Introduction and Objectives: The central odontogenic fibroma (COF) is a benign odontogenic tumour derived from the dental mesenchymal tissues. It is a rare tumour and only 70 cases of it have been published. Management of primary odontogenic myxoma

BACKGROUND: This retrospective study describes our experience in the management of odontogenic myxoma. METHODS: Thirty-four patients (23 female and 11 male) with single lesions were treated. Thirty-three patients were adults (mean age 33.5 years) and one child (age 6 years). Male:female ratio was 1:2. Different surgical procedures were used to treat the tumors. 11 lesions were treated by marginal osteotomy, 12 lesions by enucleation and curettage, 11 lesions by radical treatment (segmental or block resection). Mechanically induced reflex responses in human triceps brachii.

The short and long latency reflex responses of human triceps brachii muscle were recorded in 14 healthy volunteers. An electromechanical hammer was used to stretch the muscle and recordings were made from a surface electromyogram. The monosynaptic tendon reflex occurred at a mean latency of 12.5 ms (SE 0.7 ms). Later responses were observed in activated conditions (weak force production, preparatory period) at a mean latency of 62.8 ms (SE 3.5 ms). The amplitude of the short latency reflex increased during weak tension, the long latency reflex amplitude seemed to increase during the preparatory period testing. Placement of endosseous implants in patients with oral epidermolysis bullosa.

Abstract Objective: To evaluate the feasibility of placing endosseous implants in patients with recessive dystrophic epidermolysis bullosa. This article reports on 4 patients subjected to follow-up. Study Design: Implants were placed in 4 cases. All patients have marked oral involvement, with devastating alterations in the soft and hard tissues in all cases. Results: A total of 15 implants (7 maxillary, 8 mandibular) were placed. All implants integrated successfully and have been restored. The average follow-up from implant placement was 2.5 years (range, 1-4).
