Este trabajo presenta un ejercicio de determinación de ciudades a partir de los criterios desarrollados en el seno de Eurostat y la DG-Regio. El concepto de ciudad se vincula a los centros de decisión a nivel local, es decir se trata de «ciudades administrativas» en el sentido de que están constituidas por un municipio o agrupación de municipios físicamente contiguos. No se trata de aglomeraciones puras de población, que satisfacen ciertos criterios de densidad y volumen mínimo, sino que, partiendo de estas aglomeraciones, a las que denominaremos centros urbanos, se las vincula a los municipios a partir de reglas prefijadas. KLUM@GTAP: Introducing biophysical aspects of land-use decisions into a general equilibrium model: A coupling experiment

In this paper the global agricultural land use model KLUM is coupled to an extended version of the computable general equilibrium model (CGE) GTAP in order to consistently assess the integrated impacts of climate change on global cropland allocation and its implication for economic development. The methodology is innovative as it introduces dynamic economic land-use decisions based also on the biophysical aspects of land into a state-of-the-art CGE; it further allows the projection of resulting changes in cropland patterns on a spatially more explicit level. The paper below aims at bringing its contribution to outline the Sibiu County's complex agricultural profile. We are interested not only in observing the current economic realities, but also the structural changes experienced in the agricultural sector, our goal being that of highlighting the determining factors underlying the changes experienced. Last but not least, the research paper below seeks to identify the likely opportunities that Sibiu County has in what concerns sustainable rural development and, at the same time, to make a series of recommendations related to a more efficient exploitation of the agricultural potential existing at the level of this county.

In the THÜNEN tradition, Urban Economy is a striking abstraction, giving models that keep the main features of the wide diversity of real word cities. Nevertheless, this paradigm less suits the modern urban spatial structures (polycentrism, weak centripetal forces, etc.), particularly the peri-urban form of metropolitan areas, which are an urban/rural integrated space.
