Earlier research has shown that after physics instruction, many students have difficulties with the force concept, and with constructing free-body diagrams (FBDs). It has been suggested that treating forces as interactions could help students to identify forces as well as to construct the correct FBDs. Saksan liittopäivät hyväksyivät loppuvuodesta 2001 lain ydinenergian käytön vähittäisestä lopettamisesta. Laki pohjautui sopimukseen, jonka Saksan sosiaalidemokraattisen puolueen (SPD) ja Liittouma 90/Vihreiden muodostama punavihreä hallitus solmi energiateollisuuden edustajien kanssa kesäkuussa 2000. Euroopan suurin talousalue, joka tuotti lähes 30 prosenttia energiastaan ydinvoimalla, päätti siis 2020-luvun alkuun mennessä luopua kyseisestä energiamuodosta.
