The ICES Workshop on ICES reference points (WKREF2) was tasked review the WKREF1 report and based on the outcome develop updated guidelines for the ICES reference points system and recommendations for ACOM consideration. The WKREF1 report has suggested 5 key recommendations to simplify and harmonise the ICES reference points framework representing a major change to the current guidelines. At WKREF2, we detailed discussions and four key concerns were raised about the proposed approach. The first related to the simplification of rules to define Blim. Nostetta särkikaloista -hankkeen kevään 2019 pilottikohteiden (Pieni Raudanvesi, Haukivesi, Puruvesi, Ruokojärvi) rysäsaalista ja kalaston rakennetta arviointiin särjen, ahvenen ja lahnan osalta ja samalla arvioitiin kalastuksen kestävyyttä olemassa olevien aineistojen ja vasta valmistuneen vajaasti hyödynnettyjen kalalajien saalispotentiaaliarvion (Ruokonen ym. 2019) pohjalta. Saaliin hyödynnettävyyttä elintarvikkeeksi selvitettiin kalalajeittain yhteistyössä kalajalostajien kanssa sekä teoriatasolla käyttäen vertailupohjana Suomen (2017) tekemää selvitystä jalostukseen kelpaavista kalalajeista ja kokoluokista. Intensive fishing that selects for large and old individuals can have pervasive effects on traits directly associated with the fecundity and survival of the target species. The observed reduction in fish body size can result in earlier sexual maturity at a smaller body size, leading to a lower individual reproductive output and population productivity in the long term. In addition, increased predation can induce similar responses in age and size at maturity due to the release of intraspecific competition and the lower population density. Vapaa-ajankalastusta tukevia palveluita on tutkittu ja kehitetty suunnitelmallisesti hämmästyttävän vähän, kun otetaan huomioon, että sillä on jopa 1,7 miljoonaa harrastajaa Suomessa. Tässä tutkimuksessa selvitettiin yhteisöllisten vapaa-ajankalastuspalveluiden nykytilaa, kehitystarpeita ja -valmiuksia. Tutkimuksen kohderyhminä olivat asiakkaista potentiaaliset ja varsinaiset vapaa-ajankalastuksen harrastajat sekä palveluntuottajista osakaskunnat. Tutkimuksen tutkimusstrategiana oli soveltava tutkimus, joka toteutettiin lomakekyselyinä. Kyselyihin saatiin yhteensä 662 vastausta. While the extreme inputs of nutrients (phosphorus and nitrogen) can nowadays be reduced and controlled rather efficiently, additional measures to reverse eutrophication may be needed.
