Effects of Anandamide and Noxious Heat on Intracellular Calcium Concentration in Nociceptive DRG Neurons of Rats

As an endogenous agonist at the cannabinoid receptor CB1 and the capsaicin-receptor TRPV1, anandamide may exert both anti- and pronociceptive actions. Therefore we studied the effects of anandamide and other activators of both receptors on changes in free cytosolic calcium ([Ca2+]i) in acutely dissociated small dorsal root ganglion neurons (diameter: ≤30 μm). Anandamide (10 μM) increased [Ca2+]iin 76% of the neurons. The EC50was 7.41 μM, the Hill slope was 2.15 ± 0.43 (mean ± SE). W artykule przedstawiona została sytuacja strategiczna twierdzy Kamieniec Podolski w okresie od zimy 1768 r. do zimy 1769 r., gdy na Podolu trwała konfederacja barska. Komendant twierdzy Józef de Witte dokładał wszelkich starań, aby utrzymać twierdzę, a przede wszystkim stanowiących jej garnizon żołnierzy w jak najlepszej kondycji, a przy tym dochować wierności królowi Stanisławowi Augustowi. 2017. gada 30. aprīlī ievērojamais docents un pētnieks Kamils Ramans svinētu 100 gadu jubileju. LU Bibliotēkas Dabaszinātņu bibliotēka sadarbībā ar LU Ģeogrāfijas un Zemes zinātņu fakultāti piedāvā iepazīties ar izstādi Kamila Ramana simtgades piemiņai. Izstādē var iepazīties ar docenta dzīves gājumu, kā arī būtisko devumu ģeogrāfijas un ainavu zinātnē. Izstāde veidota trīs daļās: pirmajā daļā aplūkots Kamila Ramana dzīves gājums un nozīmīgākie sasniegumi, otrajā daļā apkopotas nozīmīgākās publikācijas, bet noslēgumā LU Ģeogrāfijas un zemes zinātņu fakultāte piedāvā kolēģu un laika biedru atmiņas par Kamila Ramana aktīvo darbību Latvijas Universitātē.

Od końca lat dwudziestych XX stulecia swoją obecność na ziemi kłodzkiej zaznaczyła słynna fabryka Gebrüder Rieger z Karniowa, nawiązując tym samym do bogatej tradycji organmistrzowskich kontaktów pomiędzy Czechami a ziemią kłodzką. W 1927 r. firma wybudowała 12-głosowy instrument dla klasztoru sióstr elżbietanek w Kudowie-Zdroju. Subventricular zone neural progenitors protect striatal neurons from glutamatergic excitotoxicity.

The functional significance of adult neural stem and progenitor cells in hippocampal-dependent learning and memory has been well documented. Although adult neural stem and progenitor cells in the subventricular zone are known to migrate to, maintain and reorganize the olfactory bulb, it is less clear whether they are functionally required for other processes. Anandamide inhibits IL-12p40 production by acting on the promoter repressor element GA-12: Possible involvement of the COX-2 metabolite prostamide E 2

The eCB [endoCB (cannabinoid)] system is being considered as a novel therapeutic target for immune disorders. Cytokines of the IL-12 (interleukin-12) family have essential functions in cell-mediated immunity. In the present study, we have addressed the mechanisms of action of the eCB AEA (anandamide) on the regulation of IL-12p40 in activated microglia/macrophages. We demonstrated that AEA can inhibit the expression of p35, p19 and p40 subunits, which form the biologically-active cytokines IL-12 and IL-23 in microglia stimulated with LPS (lipopolysaccharide)/IFNγ (interferon γ).
