Dendritic cells (DCs) are central to the initiation of tumor-specific immune responses. However, the tumor microenvironment generates immunosuppressive cells and soluble mediators that compromise DC functions and limit the success of DC-based therapies. Progress in understanding DC metabolism in cancer is uncovering novel therapeutic targets that could restore DC capacity to prime T cells and trigger effective anticancer responses. In primary Sjögren's syndrome (pSS) a complex of interconnections between epithelial barrier, innate and adaptive immunity occurs. IL-22 is a pleiotropic cytokine that in pSS may be placed at the intersection of the adaptive and innate branches of immunity. Some evidence suggests that, in pSS, IL-22 may play a prominent pro-inflammatory role driving the early phase of tissue and systemic inflammation and participating in the self-perpetuation of disease. Detection of natural killer T cells in mice infected with Rickettsia conorii.

Little information is available regarding the role of natural killer T (NKT) cells during the early stage of Rickettsia conorii infection. Herein, C3H/HeN mice were infected with the Malish 7 strain of R. conorii. Splenocytes from these mice were analysed in the early stage of the infection by flow cytometry and compared with uninfected controls. Our results showed an increase in NKT cells in infected mice. Additionally, NKT interleukin (IL)-17(+) cells increased three days after infection, together with a concurrent decrease in the relative amount of NKT interferon (IFN)-γ(+) cells. Killerin liikuntakeskuksen asiakkaiden oman taustan yhteys heidän arvioihinsa hyvästä ryhmäliikunnanohjaajasta

Tämän tutkielman tarkoituksena oli selvittää hyvän ryhmäliikunnanohjaajan ominai-suuksia Killerin liikuntakeskuksen asiakkaiden mielestä sekä asiakkaan oman taustan yhteyttä hyvän ryhmäliikunnanohjaajan ominaisuuksien arvioimiseen. Tutkimukseen osallistui 186 Killerin liikuntakeskuksen ryhmäliikunta- asiakasta. Vastaajien keski-ikä oli 34.8 vuotta. Suurin osa vastaajista (89 %) harrasti ryhmäliikuntaa 1 – 4 kertaa vii-kossa ja suurin osa asiakkaista (53%) oli harrastanut ryhmäliikuntaa yli 2 vuotta.
